Uncharted 2 Review Code Heading To Major Sources

If you were at all worried that Naughty Dog might not hit their confirmed October 13 release date for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves , think again. They're done .

Game Informer editor Andrew Reiner has announced on his Twitter page that he already has the review code for Uncharted 2 , and he wants everyone to "leave him alone." Yeah, we can understand that. Of course, there's always the question of an embargo date; if there is one, we all have to wait to post any finalized reviews. If there isn't one – which seems unlikely – you might be seeing reviews as early as next week (but count on that embargo date). Do we have the review code? I'm not going to answer that question because I honestly don't know if Arnold has received it yet, but I'm thinking we should see it soon if we don't have it. We had Killzone 2 in late December, I believe, and I'm hoping to get a look at Uncharted 2 as early as humanly possible. Not that you guys need any further incentive, though, right? I mean, there's little chance this one falls off your "Most Anticipated" list; I guess there could be some sort of control catastrophe or something, but this game's greatness appears inevitable.

So anyway, despite embargo dates, don't be surprised to see a few leaked reviews this month. Some sources just don't care about those dates, regardless of possible repercussions.

Write reviews. Post them on your own website (or podcast). Apply for jobs at major publications.

I'll accept nothing less that 9.5s outta 10 from reviews. Anything else is just Sony hatred.

The game hasn't even come out yet! How can we assign an "acceptable" score?

So, Ben, you guys don't need a guest reviewer for this one do you?

Oh darn!

Well, I HAD to try.

It is Uncharted 2.

That's only one of the most hotly anticipated titles on PS3 yet.

Yeah, apparently it's so easy to write a review but you can't even bother to put something of substance on your post. You can't even be bothered to spell your words correctly, let alone put something that the majority of the readers here will understand. Please, bring your crap somewhere else.

Can't wait, in the meantime I'm considering purchasing Crash 1 and 2 on the PSN :3

Crash 1 & 2 look great on the PSP….

And on a well selected SDTV

But yes, it's really awesome that you can actually play ps1 games on the psp. Something I would've never thought 'bout when all we had was the 2D Gameboys back in the late 90s…

I know what you mean. Gaming in general has come such a long way in a short time. With the PSP we are carrying around something that's basically a PS2 lite in our pocket. I can't wait to see what the next 5 years brings.

I agree. I can't remember a console generation where more changed from one to the next. Just online gaming alone has completely changed the way i game. Online just gives games virtually endless replay. And speaking of virtually…

I think some of you are getting your hopes too high. I'm sure Uncharted 2 will be awesome, but it might not get high 9's and I doubt it will sell better than something like Batman (i.e., very well, but not like GTAIV or Halo). There's still plenty of anti-PS3 sentiment out there. I'd love to be proven wrong.

I hear you, Fane, But keep the faith. I loaned Uncharted to my cousin who's strictly a sports gamer, and in his words… "best game ever, are they making a sequel?". If there's any justice in the world Uncharted 2 will sell like hot cakes, and be as well received as hot cakes with extra chocolate.

It's gonna depend on how Sony markets this thing to the masses… sure WE know it's gonna be great, but what about Joe Schmoe gamer eh? Sure the first one sold solid numbers, but remember back when everyone thought that Killzone 2 or LBP were gonna sell gangbusters out the gate? Yeah, didn't happen.

Of course we got the PS3 slim and price drop in effect this time, so that will help sales by (hopefully) a large amount. Then again, very few games outside of the Halo or GTA franchises(such as the first Assassin's Creed) can even break a million sales in its first few weeks anyway.

What are you talking 'bout?

Naughty Dog alone has its loyal fanbase (I'm proof of that, have bought all their games, except one).

They're a great company, and there's no way in hell people will pass up this game.

At least those who own a ps3

By the way, how can someone who owns a ps3 not buy its exclusives? That anti-sony sentiment is b*******, if you own the console you're just being a little bi*** who feels like they got raped by Sony.

Personally I don't care who buys it, I'm going to enjoy this gem

I hope it will be better than the first Uncharted. I got bored after couple levels which were all the same – shoot, jump, shoot, jump, etc… hope there will be more stealth, puzzles and more varianced levels…

You my friend are all alone with that comment. You already know this game is going to be bigger and better than the first one.

I know it will get at least a 9 that's a given, but high 9's are for sure. There is no way it could fail on any levels, hiding the load times behind cut scenes, astounding graphics, and actual stellar story, great gameplay, and co op for the homies, you cannot loose with this one. I wouldn't say I necessarily got bored with the 1st, it was an actual solid game. Being a reviewer would be great but I'll stick to design games, I prefer it.

I Hope Edge and Eurogamer didnt receive the review build and had to pay for the full game. That way they can "justify" their low score. :O

PEACE AND GAMING!!
