Just a few days ago, we heard about the rumor that Prototype 2 might be in development and now, as if in cue, we start to wonder if Sucker Punch is already hard at work on a sequel to inFamous .
It's a little ironic because there was much debate concerning these two titles; i.e., which was better. We still maintain that it's a no-brainer ( inFamous is a legitimate Game of the Year contender while Prototype most certainly is not), but we wouldn't mind in the least if Radical made a sequel to their game. It'd be even more ironic if inFamous 2 launched alongside that sequel for another go-'round: according to a new job listing , Sucker Punch is looking for a Lead Character Artist for their new project. The start date is "Immediately," they're looking for someone to produce character design for their "forthcoming AAA title," and this person "should be aware of current urban style and street fashion." That last bit throws us a little, as it could mean just about anything, but it still fits the inFamous atmosphere. There was some talk about Sly Cooper 4 – we caught a hint of this in inFamous – but the developers just said that was a joke, and they didn't have any plans to make another Sly . No, this sounds more like a sequel to one of this year's most accomplished and entertaining titles.
Really, if it does turn out to be inFamous 2 , we're gonna be all over that one. It could be a new exclusive PS3 franchise that is absolutely stellar…as if the PS3 needs more stellar exclusives at this point. 😉
Related Game(s): inFamous
I wouldn't be suprised if development for Infamous 2 has already started. The first was good; and I can't wait to see what they can do with the second one.
maybe there will be something in E3 '10. with a window launch in 2011. or fall '10
Just give us better graphics, the gameplay is already superb!

The graphics were perfectly fine for the art style of the game, i saw no problems with them
…what? The graphics were great.
To me it was alright, but it can be better.
i agree… while graphics are never a deciding point for me, i did find them to be above average for a PS3 exclusive title… but, there were a lot of good things graphically too like cole's powers and stuff… looked really good but, could of been better for sure… it felt kinda grainy and not as smooth as i thought it would be… but again, it still looks really good, just not on par with MGS and uncharted…
You guys know those graphics were not what a PS3 exclusive should be. Plus the game was buggy. I love the game, story, gameplay, and style but they should try to outdo themselves and do something that would not be possible on the 360.
All of you guys settling for good enough might be playing on the wrong console.
Yea, I wasn't too impressed with the game graphically either. Definitely wasn't poor by any measure, but just not the quality I associate with PS3 exclusives these days….
The graphics in Infamous are as good as they can be for a sandbox game. Sandbox games cannot look as good as linear games like Uncharted 2 because you have this huge open world that's more demanding on RAM which translates to sacrifices to texture detail. They could work around this issue by using the same textures over and over again making every building look the same like in Elder Scrolls: Oblivion but that makes the game world dull and repetitive.
No wonder Fallout 3 looked like shit. Fun game, just terrible graphics.
yea, i love it too… graphics are 5% of my criteria when it comes to games… but, i'd give these graphics a 90% :D…
who cares if **inset other console your mentioning** has a few games that look better… infamous is one best games of the year because, it boasts some of the best game play i've experienced this year… and one of the best stories :D…
and the exact same goes for fallout 3… 08's GOTY… great story, great gameplay, great re-playability.. fun as hell… infamous, '09 GOTY (so far lol)…

I kinda emphasize on graphics being it is a next gen game were talking about, Fallout 3is fun, and has great gameplay, but have you looked at the rocks in that game, they migh as well have been 8 bit. For InFamous, it had great graphics, but they could have been better, but for a sandbox, its pretty amazing, *stares at GTAIV*
It did have horrible pop up.But a great game otherwise
yeah, the graphics were top notch. I'm getting deja vu because we already argued this out in the forums.
Go to the west side of the train tunnel in the warren. you can climb the left side via a support beam located behind the wall. He just sticks his hands and feet through the wall and climbs.
Hopefully it is, infamous was a blast to play and the story was a hidden gem in a game all about gameplay. Just give us a longer game, with varied side quests, and more bosses.
Uhhh…I don't think it needs to be any longer. It took me a good 30 hours to do everything.
really? it took me a little over 10 hours, but i guess i played too much when i got it, but the game was just so good
or maybe you played it on easy and there wasnt as much of a challenge?
Replaying sections because you got killed isn't extra value; it's kind of the opposite. If a game can be finished in 10 hours on easy, it's a 10-hour game.
Oh, and the cutscenes count; don't skip them.
BTW I'm not saying that inFAMOUS is a 10-hour game; I don't have it yet.

actually kevy i always play on normal the first time and after i play hard. i beat the game twice, once with good karma and another with bad karma. and all the way from the beginning for each ;P
In order to be a "true" sequel, inFAMOUS 2 should recognize your game save data, so Cole has already all his powers and good/bad modjo and be able to continue his adventures…
I like that idea, seeing that most of the people that got the game more than likely became a Hero and Infamous like me.
SPOILERS!!!
We could see the return of Moyra (who is she working for?), if anything of The First Sons remain, if Zeke and Cole worked out their differences, if the Dust Men rise up again, if Sasha returns, what the government really knows, and most important who was the one that brought 'hell on earth'
END SPOILERS!!!
With all that and even more things that Cole has to deal with in the city, inFamous 2 should rock. My only request is that they release it in the middle of spring/summer to give us something to play.
If they do make another one hopefully the powers Cole has will start to evolve even further. Can't wait.

I've been waiting for a game to do that for ever. Fable 2 promised that. KOTOR II promised that. Mass Effect 2 promised that. Sadly, I still haven't played inFamous because the demo turned me off. I went the way of Prototype and had a blast with it. I know the Batman demo wasn't a good depiction of the game. Is it the same for the inFamous demo?
fatelementality, I didn't like the inFAMOUS demo and I bought the game 'cause I had some credit for a couples of trade ins.
I loved every minute of the game, you should at least rent the game
THis is definitely not a game to pass up. I thought infamous would be my game of the year but then came Batman.
@ pavlovic
You are totally right about sequels: they need to continue from the end of the first game.
"Aw shucks, I've lost all my powers AGAIN!"
@ fatelementality
I didn't like the demo much on my first playthrough, but once I got into it….
You might want to give it another try. Or not.
@ sunspider
Thanks for the spoiler warning. 🙂

I'm about to be on my 3rd playthrough in about 2-3 hrs to get that Platinum. They should definitely add more variety to the side mission, and at least let Cole keep some of his powers. Sorta make some of the later powers default like Kratos and the Golden Fleece and Pegasus wings.
I played it Twice and got the Platinum. First time was on Medium defficulty and I was Famous. Second play was Hard and I was inFamous.
Two Trophies that make you go berserk are the Rockhound and Stunt Master.Whatever you do control yourself and relax, I've been there, I felt like smashing my tv and breaking the dualshock3. Oh and get ready to have thumb pains from the trillion L3 clicks to get those shards HA!
rockhound was easy since you have radar. all i did was seperate the maps into sections and just went around with my radar, press in r3 i think. Stunt master should be easy too since theres already a list out so just do it, some should be done before leveling up cole. i got most of the trophies in 1 playthrough especially rockhound and stunt master. second playthrough was just straight for infamous status.

Yeah! inFamous rocked 🙂 Exited for what they will do in the second round.
Just hope they get rid off those bugs.
Anyway, day 1 buy for me 🙂
to me infamous was a bad ass game. i played the hell out of it when i got it and still am workin on the last couple trophies. as i play infamous though it feels as if the game could have used another couple months of polish just a little bit on some bugs. some times i jump or run through stuff, i found a window where when i pressed left i went right and right for left. small stupid stuff that in the end did not take away from the game or make me like it less. i am very happy with the game, there are much worse games out there.
bring on #2
Too early imo
it would be strange to return to empire city… i almost feel like maybe another city needs to recruit cole to help with their problems… what their problem would be i have no clue… but, running through the exact same city might not do it for me unless there is a lot of upgrades to city, like maybe set 10-20 years into the future… the historic district restored, and maybe add couple more islands that are now reachable now that the city is no longer on lockdown…
but, with the two different endings, it seems like a tough act to pull off in a sequel since the city could be in two totally different states after the end of the first one…
I liked inFamous but I feel they could've reworked the graphics and bugs/glitches. Also the ending was anti-climatic when you finished on the Evil side with the cinematic stating "I'll be prepared for the beast" and then in the end credits saying "I don't give a s*** about the beast". I mean, what the hell… and also if you couldn't completely upgraded your powers in the end and you've attempted to finish all the side-missions, it's gonna be difficult gaining experience (infamous mode).
Expand the story! Yum
Love sequels, really adds so much to a new ip
Bring in a new character, would be fun to have a side kick or a cute babe in it now
wasn't Zeke already a "sidekick" just had a couple a screws loose? or maybe Moya? because they were really always around throught the story via radio with Cole. the sidekick comment is nice though maybe even allow for a co-op mode with a "saints row" style feel to multi player game play.
I only have one problem with the game, after game replayability. Other than hunting for shards theres nothing else to do. If you take over all territories, enemies rarely come out so you cant even work on stunt master trophy if you didnt get it before. I want them to work on that part though i dont know how they're gonna do that.
i agree with that a little bit.
lol I also agree with that, just a little.
I love the game, but it is a downer when you reach maximum badass status and find there's little left to do. What I'd like is a patch which gave us the option to start the game with most – if not all your powers, at a new heightened difficulty level (if such a thing is possible via patch). The other thing I'd like is InFamous 2 next week, so they damn well better be working on it!
now that i can definitley agree with RadioHeader.
that's why i only play for the story on some other games.. i don't really worry about the platinum trophies or how many trophies i want, i just want to beat the story of many games as possible hehe.
if this game is set for next year then i dought it will be infamous 2 because that would be too early for a sequel but my guess is on another sly cooper game
given that i just finished the game earlier, i hope there won't be a sequel for a while because i think the sequel's story has to be carefully thought out. i dont want to spoil anything about the story but yeah, 38 seconds..
lol i agree
26 seconds…
Hi guys I am kinda new here but I have what I think to be a great idea. Why not start the game based on how you ended your most recent play through. I mean if you beat the game while evil the games story begins based around you being evil and vice versa. But after you beat it for the first time you can play how ever you want. Or maybe be able to change the story by trying to become good or evil based on what you did in the first inFamous.
well that is all I can think of right now
I love Infamous. I would love to switch between good and evil at will. More bosses ala Shadow of the Colosus would be awesome. Maybe invite a friend to help you beat special bosses in a mini game? for multiplayer lovers.
😛 hey ben did i give you the idea of Infamous 2 because in the prototype 2 article i mentioned it.
