In this particular case, the retailer information has been correct; we only just now got the official announcement.
According to Joystiq , Activision has confirmed that DJ Hero will hit US store shelves on October 27 and release around the world in "late October," which will likely be October 30. We've seen many titles with that three-day gap between a North American and European/PAL release date, so we're just going by evidence based on very recent history. Unfortunately, the publisher still hasn't nailed down the final price, although retailers are probably correct here, too: $120 for the regular package version and $200 for the special Renegade edition (pictured here). We got a chance to sample this bad boy a few weeks ago and we liked what we saw; the game will come with 93 mixes and one of the coolest aspects is that the guitar mode "will be compatible with Rock Band axes and microphones." The mic isn't really used for singing in DJ Hero but hey, it's all part of the fun. And while some of you are still a little sour on Activision, we imagine this kind of innovative music title will appeal to a great many people who prefer hip-hop over rock. < /p?
Of course, it's still a little pricey from a consumer's standpoint so they may have to choose between this and either the Prestige Edition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 or the new Guitar Hero 5 .
