In this particular case, the retailer information has been correct; we only just now got the official announcement.

According to Joystiq , Activision has confirmed that DJ Hero will hit US store shelves on October 27 and release around the world in "late October," which will likely be October 30. We've seen many titles with that three-day gap between a North American and European/PAL release date, so we're just going by evidence based on very recent history. Unfortunately, the publisher still hasn't nailed down the final price, although retailers are probably correct here, too: $120 for the regular package version and $200 for the special Renegade edition (pictured here). We got a chance to sample this bad boy a few weeks ago and we liked what we saw; the game will come with 93 mixes and one of the coolest aspects is that the guitar mode "will be compatible with Rock Band axes and microphones." The mic isn't really used for singing in DJ Hero but hey, it's all part of the fun. And while some of you are still a little sour on Activision, we imagine this kind of innovative music title will appeal to a great many people who prefer hip-hop over rock. < /p?

Of course, it's still a little pricey from a consumer's standpoint so they may have to choose between this and either the Prestige Edition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 or the new Guitar Hero 5 .

I'm totally sick of these music games. I hope this doesn't become the next guitar hero…

I wonder If Activision has any clue how much the average gamer has in his/her pocket to spend on games. All their stuff lately seems to be geared at rich people. I don't see how they can stay in business if they keep this up. If I wanted to play their games { which I don't } I would have to sacrifice buying 3 or 4 other titles just to get 1 of theirs. It doesn't make sense.

Freaking ridiculous. I'd rather buy another PS3 then this crap(which I will). They're arrogance is unbelievable. I think they think they are Gods gift to gamers.

I don't need another ps3 right now, but I want one of those slims. The heat reduction is kinda worth it. I have no complaints in the wintertime because it helps warm your room.

Will these music things ever crash and just stop selling? The next generation of children won't have any REAL musicians in it.

Goodness I didn't even think about that. But who knows. Think it can be worse then the Jonas Brothers or Spears? Music hasn't been good since the 70's with a few exceptions in te 80's and 90's.

My daughter wanted one of these music games, so I bought her a 3/4 scale Ibanez electric guitar instead.

Hip hop? Did Activision pidgeon hole this thing already? I'm not interested in purchasing this but if they ignored the more prevalent (read: creative) genres that have loads of DJ's, then they will totally miss the mark on this one. Unless, that's what they're aiming for. My pants aren't at my knees though.

Even if they put some effort into it I still wouldn't listen to it. Like even pop singers (i also dislike) put some thought into what they say.
