Dark Void Lifs Off On January 12

Capcom didn't want to mess with the big boys scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2009, so they decided to delay the promising Dark Void until next year. But as it turns out, they didn't push it very far…

According to GameSpot , Capcom has announced that this vertical-oriented action title will launch on January 12 in North America and three days later in Europe. The publisher must like that time of year; both Lost Planet: Extreme Condition and Resident Evil 4 have launched in mid-January in the past. Their newest project has an optimistic sales goal of 2 million copies sold in its first year of availability, but they should hit that number if we get a top-quality product. The only issue might be that Dark Void still has to battle Darksiders , Bayonetta , MAG and Army of Two: The 40th Day , all of which are slated to hit in January ( The 40th Day also has a January 12 date). Dark Void is the very first project for developer Airtight Games, but we're hoping this jetpack-infused frenzy of an action title will be a hit rookie release. Good luck, guys!

We also suggest saving some money for the first quarter of next year. A whole lot of potentially great games got pushed out of 2009 to make way for the blockbusters, so don't go splurging like mad between October and December. Save a bit in the hopper, fellas.

Meh, Crapcom used to be one of my favorite developers. They have lost my support this gen. That piece of crap known as Resident Evil 5 destroyed my respect for them. It was obviouswith that release that it was more importent to pander to xbots then it was to make another great Resident Evil. That franchise died the day Shinji Mikami quit Crapcom.

I still have faith in Capcom. Although RE5 wasn't the best(it definitely wasn't bad).
I trust them with a new IP. Especially a bad ass jet-pack shooter new IP.

@Ben you misspelled lifts

You know, forever, I thought this game was only for the 360.

It may as well be. Microsoft has Crapcom's nuts on a sack.

what big boys?
this was supose to be out in september, theres 1 big game coming out in september batman AA.
o and NFS shift but im positive that will be crap.
im starting to think devs are living in the 4 months ago state, all these games dellayed were so to "avoid the oct-dec rush" but the time there delayed to is busier than the time they were due out.
i dont know about you but im posetive dark void would sell better going up against batman AA and NFS shift, than Darksiders, Bayonetta, MAG,Army of Two: The 40th Day, heavy rain (hopeful) GT5(if not december).
seriously im lost in the logic.

Might watch 'The Rocketer'…well if they release a demo and if it's decent I might give a shot. Wouldn't mind a decent new IP.

The game play trailers look great so far. Not sure which one I would choose if it went up against Bayonetta, and who knows what else will be released in January.
