If you need an excuse to turn more of the red planet into rubble, head onto either the PlayStation Network or Xbox Live Marketplace today.

THQ has announced the arrival of the "Demons of the Badlands" pack for the excellent Red Faction: Guerrilla , which is now available for download for the price of $9.99 (800 Microsoft Points on Live). The action in this pack is set a few years prior to the events in the game, and if you're wondering what you get for your ten bucks, you might be surprised: it "features all new missions, weapons, vehicles, guerrilla actions and a destructive single-player mission arc set in the Mariner Valley – a new Martian landscape outside of the original game's expansive world." Furthermore, the team plans to lift the veil on two more downloadable content packs, details of which we can expect to be "revealed soon." There are many times when we question the price of a piece of DLC, especially after viewing the extra content in question but in this case, it's a no-brainer. You're getting a ton of stuff for the price of admission and if you're a fan of Guerrilla , you will most certainly want "Demons of the Badlands." Of course, you can always run around in the online multiplayer matches, too; nobody's stoppin' you.

We'll get you the information on the two upcoming packs as soon as it's available, but in the meantime, keep blowin' sh** up!

Expansion DLC already? So basically stuff that should have been in the game to begin with? I guess this is how game companies are going to get around the whole idea that game prices should have gone up with inflation. Sell a game that isn't complete and hope everyone buys the DLC later.

Just one question: how do you know exactly where the line is of what "should've" been in the game, and what can legitimately be called extra content? Isn't it interesting how everyone seems to know exactly where this line is…?

I REALLY don't think you can complain about the single-player campaign in this game and to say it isn't "complete" is…well, totally absurd.

I haven't got Red Faction yet but I'm pretty sure Volition would never try to make the story incomplete and the sell the end of the story for a couple of bucks.
But still why the hate?! they've just released a awesome pack for this game

Want a good example of content that shoulda been there at release? Try Madden 10. About 100 bucks total and you have the game. There was some SFIV stuff that shoulda came with it as well.

Ughh i'm really sick of dlc, like just include it with the game! And it seems kind of early for dlc for this game cuz it seems like it came out just like last month.

A month isn't early at all, and you can't include all DLC on the game if they didn't come up with it after they already finished the game. besides, DLC is a way of at least giving your fav developers more money, lol

Oh aha sorry i thought it was just a month. But i don't want to give my hard earned cash to a developer for things that should be in the game.

I know exactly what you mean! Red Faction is a great stress-reliever!

There IS one thing missing…the girl at the bar in Total Recall who, uh,…had THREE assets!

"Schwing!"

The bioshock challenge rooms should have been on the disc as well. They took a year and a half to port it over and in all that time only made a few extra rooms, which is like less than half a level. Then the buggers keep it at full price and charge as much as this legitimate expansion above for their few lousy rooms.
Normally I wouldn't care at all but it would have been my first platinum trophy but their greed got in the way. Oh well guess I'll just have to go back to infamous.
