Maybe you only recently picked up the PlayStation 3, and you haven't reached LittleBigPlanet on your "catch-up list" just yet. Or maybe you simply passed on Media Molecule's gem last year 'cuz it looked too "cutesy" (silly you). But whatever the reason, if you don't own a copy of one of the most accomplished and innovative PS3 exclusives out there, you'll definitely want to look into the Game of the Year edition.

Now, as many of you know, there has been a continual – and much-appreciated – onslaught of extra downloadable content for this game, which is why everyone immediately wondered how much of it will be included in this new edition. Well, if the box art is any indication, there will be $30 worth of bonus DLC! Add the fact that the game will release with a cheaper price tag than the original only adds to the appeal. We're not sure which of the available DLC on the PSN will be featured in the Game of the Year Edition, but it certainly sounds like a hefty amount, and that oughta be good enough for those who have yet to toy around with SackBoy. We don't yet have a release date, but we'd like to think it'll make it out before the end of the year; it'd make for a perfect holiday gift for any new PS3 owner. There are just certain titles you must have in your collection, and if LittleBigPlanet doesn't qualify as one such title…well, you need to reassess your definition of "quality."

Oh, and let's not forget about LittleBigPlanet PSP , which should be ready to go in a few months time; it will feature some sort of "cross-communication" with the PS3 version, so there's yet another reason to have LBP at your disposal.  We're all still SackBoy crazy!

That's about 43% of the DLC that's out there right now, in terms of price. I think they've put out around $70 worth of DLC here in the states. I'd say this blows for anyone that's gotten all of the content but in comparison to the many, many hours that we have put into this game, I'm not complaining. We still play this game on a weekly basis and that's going all the way back to when it was released in October. If you don't have this game yet, this is an awesome edition to get. For those that don't like this game, you obviously have lost the "kid" in your gamer self. Shame on you.

i dont usually like cute kids games (hence no Wii), i love serious games, i.e. MGS4, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Assassin, Demon's Souls etc, but LBP is just so one of a kind and I am so addicted and fell in love with it, every other day I will have to touch it and play for a bit. that is the charm of this game.

I have never laughed as much playing a game as I have with this one. This is a very entertaining game and this edition is a good buy for anyone who doesn't have it.

I hear you, me and my brother, both over 30, love the game and find ourselves laughing quite frequently playing it. It's just a ton of fun, unique and entertaining. Absolutely love the sound track, and some of the user created levels are absolutely stunning.

The sound track is great. LBP is one of those rare games that I don't turn the music down or off.

For your information this game has been named GOTY by many many many sites(look them up yourself) and has won more awards than any other game this Gen.

Tons of people, have you not been around the internet?

Hello?!! Have you guys been around 2008? GTA4, Fallout 3, Resistance 2 AND MGS4? LBP is a fine game, but GOTY seems a little manufactured. It must be based on the meager handful of awards it got (mostly in Europe where it was made). It didn't sell as well as it probably should of, and this is an attempt at generating more sales.

Your ignorance is painful . It won 8 awards from AIAS including game of the year . They are the most prestigious awards in the gaming industry .

It deserves the GOTY award, but not a new edition I really expected MM to work on online create & actually enable the Play, create, share system

$30 bux of dlc?? You mean all those costumes? LBP costumes is the biggest rip off since Oblivion's horse armor fiasco.

I more than likely have all this $30 worth of DLC, this is one of that games that's so much fun with everyone. MM keeps adding new things all the time so I'll be comming back for a long time. GOTY is well deserved.

LBP is only limited by your imagination, or lack of an open-mind.

Not everything is cutesy cutesy. Those who have played the game long enough realize that you can make it as scary and realistic as any "real life game."

Anyway, it's the best platformer since Crash Bandicoot. And we all know how awesome Crash Bandicoot was!

$30 worth of DLC is a lot…I have a lot of it, but I'm sure it's under #30.

PS: The more people you can play it with, the more fun. Believe it or not, this is one of the best party games of this generation.

how can there be two games of the year ? meaning
– Fallout 3 GOTY and Little big planet GOTY

LOL.

Different publications/sites/organizations.

All it takes is one publication/site/organization to name a game GOTY for a publisher to call it such.

Every year there are multiple GOTY editions.

This year, there are LBP, Fallout 3, and Left 4 Dead GOTY editions just to name a few.

I wish there were more because they normally come with all the DLC available at a cheaper price (see LBP, Fallout 3, and Left 4 Dead).

I'll be buying this for two reasons:

1. It's on my "catch-up list" (along with Infamous, DMC4, and Valkyria Chronicles.

2. Common sense-wise, it will be cheaper than the normal retail version (which is for me, currently between $60CAD and $70CAD, depending on the retailer).
