Yeah, the original was just another mediocre move-to-game adaptation, but that doesn't mean Sega can't get it right the second time around, right?

As reported by Electronic Theatre , Sega Europe and Sega America have revealed the promising details for Iron Man 2 . First of all, renowned comic book author Matt Fraction will pen the game's storyline, "which includes familiar elements from both the movie and comic book universe." New and more destructive environments, epic enemies (Crimson Dynamo, baby!), and a "more interactive" world overall might make this sequel well worth your attention. The new plot will involve Tony Stark providing everyone with fancy new technology in order to make the world "a better place," but of course, his enemies have some particularly nasty tech designs of their own. Said Fraction:

"Iron Man 2 presented me with the challenge and opportunity to work with both SEGA and Marvel on creating something wholly unique– a story that exists at the cross-roads of the comic I write, the film universe which I was lucky enough to be asked to contribute to, and a wholly-immersive interactive experience like a game. A game presents an entirely new challenge, where the audience/consumer/player engages with the world, with the big and small aspects of the place and characters. They're a co-conspirator in the narrative. I hope it's as exciting and challenging to play as it was to write."

Supposedly, we'll be able to "take full advantage" of the Iron Man suit, and special new hand-to-hand combat techniques (including Kung-Fu) ought to spice up the action. Iron Man 2 is slated to arrive in Spring 2010 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PSP, and DS, and we'd like to think Sega is on the right track this time. We always gotta give games a chance, at the very least….could be great; who knows?

Argh…well see. I have yet to play a movie game that was any good. I had high hopes for Terminator Salvation. What a piece that game was.

Iron man 2 is not going to be based on a movie, matt fraction is writing a script for the game.

I don't think there's been a good game based on a movie since Aladdin for the SNES ūüėõ …oh wait, Golden Eye was good but after that, I can't recall any lol

I'll wait for the reviews this isn't going to be a day one buy for me. The first game was also promising and it turned out to be really poorly done in my opinion. It wasn't a good game. But this does sound a lot better so who knows sega might fix the first ones problems.

it's better when they don't base a game off of a movie for obvious reasons, but when they have unlimited time and resources to work with with that character…Look at Hulk: Ultimate Destruction or X-Men:Legends those games were awesome…

The first game had a ton of potential, yet the end-result felt like the developers were asleep at the wheel. So I really hope such isn't the case with the sequel, because that 'ton of potential' I mentioned is still there and virtually untapped.

How badass would it be if Sucker Punch developed the Iron Man 2 game.
