They fell shy with Mercenaries 2: World in Flames and Lord of the Rings: Conquest , but Pandemic Studios has a chance to redeem themselves with The Saboteur , which now has an official release date.

According to GameSpot , the promising action title is slated to arrive for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on December 8. The Saboteur puts an interesting spin on the common World War II setting; i.e., the gameplay is similar to that of Mercenaries in that it's an open-world sandbox style. You will step into the shoes of Sean Devlin, a former race car driver who has been recruited to fight for the resistance, and you need to smack those timeless villains known as the Nazis. You can read our hands-on preview and decide for yourself whether or not this one is worthy of your attention, but bear in mind that it has potential. We weren't too enamored with the visuals, but then again, we're not often impressed with the graphics in any of Pandemic's productions. Besides, it's the gameplay that intrigues us most, and we're hoping that it's both engaging and entertaining. If they hit the mark, we should have a game that'll become a sought-after title for the holiday season.

We first heard about The Saboteur back in March of 2007 and since then, EA acquired Pandemic for $860 million. Whether or not this transition had a positive or negative impact, we'll soon see…

Don't know about this one. It seems interesting, but I didn't care for Mercs2. I'll wait for the reviews.

This game has mediocre written all over it and coming out when great titles will already be out and more coming……wow, I don't have alot of confidence for them to pull off huge sales.

What's with the "Sin City" black and white with min. color thing? Not to appealing in a video game. But then again I thought some games looked better when some of the color was left out. Resistance was so saturated with color it looked cartoony.

The colour is a gameplay thing.
The less control the Nazis have over the area the more colour it gets.

First it starts off with no colour pretty much.

Despite the reviews I'll more than likely get this game, after I buy all the other holiday block busters.

Loved Mercs2. Flat out silly good times. If Saboteur is similar to Mercs2 then I'll keep my eye on it for sure.
