Given that evidence alone, you should be excited to learn that the next SMT installment – Persona 5 – is in the works and may end up being exclusive to the PlayStation 3. It would be the first such entry in the series on the PS3, and it shouldn't be all that surprising, considering that all previous installments have been exclusive to PlayStation platforms. The evidence comes from a pachinko industry publication that said "a consumer announcement of PS3 exclusive Persona 5 is scheduled." Sankaku Complex questions the validity of the rumor, but mentions the franchise's loyalty to PlayStation and the fact that we have yet to see a true next-gen Persona . Typically, Atlus isn't so enamored with leaping directly into a new generation, and if you hadn't noticed, they've fared rather well with some PS2 RPGs over the past few years. But they'll have to make the jump sooner or later so it should come as no surprise that they're currently prepping, and if the game isn't exclusive to the PS3…well, it'd be weird. We seriously doubt any Xbox 360 loyalist has ever heard of the series in question but then again, Namco made Beautiful Katamari exclusive to the 360 after two consecutive PS2-exclusive releases, so who knows what might happen?
Anyway, we'll let you know if Persona 5 for the PS3 receives an official confirmation in the near future. You can bet that if it does, RPG fans everywhere will be sporting ear-to-ear smiles.
Hell yes! I loved 4 and am in the process of beating 3, so this is definitely one of the series I want to see on the ps3.
And maybe the main character will talk in this one?

Cool, it's time that the PS3 inherited more and more franchises from its older brother. Persona is another great addition, in my opinion.

With the exception of the Devil Summoner subseries every SMT game has always been turn based and I can't really see that changing. The whole hitting-weaknesses-earns-an-extra-attack thing has been a signature of SMT games for a long time.

i just finished persona 4 and moving onto persona 3, they are so fun to play. I am in delight to know there will be a persona 5, i am pre-sold already. must buy for me and for all turn based jrpg fans

This just made my week…and it's only Sunday.
theres still tunns of series sony still havent brought to the ps3 yet.
i know its only in its 3rd year and theres a long time to go but.
i wish once naughty dog have finished uncharted2 go back to the crash bandicoot series.
do a re hash of crash bandicoot warped and crash bandicoot racing and while their at it crash bash.
i would love to see those updated for the ps3, i spend hours recently finishing CTR and crash 3 they were my favorite games on the PS1.
seeing on how R&C is so popular these should sell quite well, sony would be smart to try and reserect some of their more "kid friendly" games.
and the infamous syphon filter when o when are we going to see the once perfect shooter,and a BLACK 2 criterion seriously enough with the DLC time for a new game…… being BLACK 2.
their just of the top of my head, we need a proper stealth game to.
sort of like hitman mixed with metal gear solid 1.
a true stealth game where you have to be silent and invisible to everything, you get caught you fail.
something that allows you to distract your enemies send them separate ways than deal with them silently.
LA Noire sounded like its supose to be something like that but its been what 12 months since we heard anything about that, i wouldent be surprised (but extremly disappointed) if its been canned or changed into agent.
God no! Crash bandicoot wasn't all that. Although CTR made for hours of fun.

Considering the horrible performance of the 360 in Japan, it only makes sense this game would be a PS3 exclusive.
Then again, I would say that about most JRPGs and Sh'mups (horizontal shooters), both of which are popular genres in Japan.
This gen, however, has seen the bulk of the games in these categories on the 360, especially Sh'mups, which aren't really popular in the west (outside of Otakus like myself).

It's about time for Atlas to make a Persona game on PS3. I can't wait to play it.
