Ben-DutkaWell, this is a first: Sega is asking you to determine how you plan to play Alpha Protocol , because that will send you to the correct retailer to place your pre-order. No, really.
As this "Espionage RPG" is all about choice, Sega figured they'd give you a jump on the decision-making process. You can pre-order this highly anticipated title, set to launch on October 6, from either GameStop or Gamecrazy, and each retailer is offering very different incentives. If you're not into stealth and patience and would rather blast your way through the game, head to GameStop, where you will receive some seriously heavy weaponry. If you'd rather take the Sam Fisher approach to the adventure, go to Gamecrazy, where you will find neat-o stuff like tranquilizers and sound suppressors. As just announced over at Sega's official blog , here are the detailed Alpha Protocol pre-order goodies for both retailers in question:

Of course, if you only have one of these stores close by, you don't really have an option. But we still think it's a damn cool idea. 😉

can't you just order it online if you don't have a gamecrazy and/or gamestop near you?

Now they've even got you playing the game,
before you're even playing the game.
But I think it's a smart on Sega's, because there's a hell of a lot of us gaming collectors like myself out there, and we would need both game versions to fill our collections).

What do you get stuck with if you just buy the game normally, and not as a pre-order?

….. Is anyone else getting sick of "game packages", i dont mind getting a special edtion which has an art book/making of DVD with it. but this is just annoying. Its to complicated for its own good, a game should not have a variety of exclusive options, you pay £40 you should get the full package anyway.Its like a disease passed on from PC games onto this gen of console games.
I actually worry that these particular bonuses will just make the game too easy. Isn't it best to work your way up to acquiring those weapons in-game, the way the designers intended?

this is the the ratchet and clank future a crack in time package thing, i think people should be able to pick what they want at what store they want. I think farcry 2 did this too.

I know this is off topic but i think everyone here should download the new "Media Go" from sony, it's free and is just like itunes. I love it already, its great for just lisening to your music. But i think should will upgrade it so you can message your psn friends and have video chats and stuff on your computer, kind of like a mix beween skype and itunes

I hope Alpha Protocol and the stealth pack I might pre-order from gamecrazy will make up for not having Splinter Cell: Conviction on the PS3 🙁

That great…. for you guys. We don't have that over here, so we always get stuck with just a plain dead standard game which freakin' sucks.
We never get any incentives for pre ordering anything that's why I never pre order anything unless I know it will be hard to find otherwise…
I'd go with the stealth pack, but I don't think I'll be getting this game anytime soon. Maybe later.
