Well, our Game of the Year 2008 was Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots , but Media Molecule's innovative and immensely satisfying LittleBigPlanet was definitely in the running. And it won several of our other awards, too.
Therefore, we have absolutely no problem with a special Game of the Year edition, which is now scheduled to release later this year. According to MCV , the GotY edition will be packaged with much of the downloadable content that is currently available for LBP – and that's a lot of content – and let's not forget about the PSP version that should be on store shelves for the holiday rush. Sackboy really made an impression on the critics last year and the game was heralded as a true next-gen concept that delivered the customization and imagination goods in spades. We've heard talk about a possible sequel but with all the bonus extras that have appeared on the PSN, it's almost as if LBP is a sequel to itself…perhaps Media Molecule is working on another project that is equally worthy of our attention. As of now, LBP remains one of those games that anyone can pick up and play at any time, and is always great, family-friendly fun for multiple players, offline and online.
But if for some reason you haven't yet indulged in the creative genius that is LittleBigPlanet , you should definitely snag the Game of the Year Edition when it arrives.
Related Game(s): LittleBigPlanet
Might get it finally then if its is >£30
It's already less than a tenner on amazon.co.uk, so I'm guessing all the post release DLC will be bundled with it.
Little Big Planet remains to be one of my all time favorites so naturally I'm intrigued. But i do hope that they make it free for all former LBP owners or at least keep the price tag below $50.
Nice. If you haven't already purchased LBP, this GOTY edition sounds like it should be on your list. If you enjoy a good platforming game, you'll enjoy LBP. One way or another Sackboy will win your heart, either that or you won't be able to prevent a laugh or two listening to Stephen Fry's narration.
throw in a sackboy plush toy with the GoTY edition and I'll buy it even though I already have the game and most of the DLC lol
@Highlander, gotta love Stephen Fry as narrator
ahh, an artist's "DREAM GAME" this is… seriously, 99% of the things you can think of, you can create in this game… it just takes some innovative thinking…
i bought this game about 2 months ago because, fallout 3 was the game i was playing during the winter… even though i was a late arriver, this game still blew me away, and i was surprised at how big the community still was…
it's worth the purchase, IMO…
I thinks its a buy for me.
Can't wait.
I have been waiting for a price drop for this game since its release but even now, it is still selling at 64.99 or 59.99, not even dropped a penny. I hope the new version has a lower price. cuz I usually only pick up games that are epic RPG or Action/Adventure games at full price. 😛

To all those who haven't played it, or have dismissed it based on silly misconceptions, I urge you to give it a chance. You won't be disappointed, or if you are, well maybe you just have a heart of stone. lol
I thought "Left for Dead" (Strangely Enough) got GotY for 2008, thats what i saw in HMV… I'm lost here.
Everyone seems to have a different GOTY, so it's not surprising LBP made it into somebodys. Certainly was the most original goty.
AIAS awarded LBP with GotY, if I'm not mistaken.

I'm still waiting for the Devil May Cry 4: Special edition which allows me to play as vergil & Dante all the way through Devil May Cry 4.
Its great for some that doesn't have the game & PSN but I guess it needs to be at the right price if it's gonna sell well
As it happens, I delved into the creative side of LBP for the first time just the other day. I've had loads of fun playing the story and online levels, but had no ideas of my own. So I finally went to the moon just to play around with some of the community created goodies I've collected, and that was the spark I needed.
I'm one of those who's spent countless hours simply customizing cars on NFS, GRID etc. and I can tell you that to actually create something from scratch on LBP is next level!. …you can even create cars 🙂
This game seriously eats up the time!
i made a golf cart for my golf course… making vehicles is quite entertaining, especially when you get to see your little sack boy drive it :)…
What's with all these "price drop" bullsh*t
This game is worth $60
You cheap bastards should just stay away from this Game of the Year quality game.
There's a so much content to last anyone 5+ years.
Curious as to how much of the DLC content will show up on this disc.
Probably everything up to the point where it releases…..
Making the purchase a full $60, hell even $70 if you ask me.
I wonder how they could make a second LBP without it seeming like an expansion pack? Maybe they will add some forward and backward movement sections like in the old Crash Bandicot?
It'll include the DLC you have to pay for.
Few of the DLCs are free, so most of it will be a lot of the goodies you have to pay for with the current version.
Sounds good ! I should probably get around to buying this.
Has Sony adopted Sackboy as the PS3's mascot yet?
they should!
LBP Forever!
I'll be picking this up, i've been waiting for a price drop. my copy was stolen 🙁
Oh i was just at Walmart today they have killzone.LBP and uncharted bundled iwth the 160gig, thinking really hard about getting that 🙂
I was pretty happy when i first heard about this. it's a must buy, i might even sell my original copy just to get it! too much DLC to buy it all seperately.
