We continue to learn more about what we assume is an automatic masterpiece in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves , despite the fact that it won't boast offline multiplayer .
There was a lot more involved in that PlayStation Blog interview with Naughty Dog Co-President Evan Wells. First up is something called a "Cinema Mode" for the online multiplayer: it's basically a replay camera that lets you view your recent action from "any angle." Wells described it thusly:
"And of course our Cinema mode allows you to play back any of your matches and view it from ANY angle. You'll also be able to upload those recordings so others can download them and view them on their PS3's. You'll be able to upload screenshots from that mode as well."
So even if they're not making offline multiplayer available, they are working to make the online multiplayer experience as satisfying as humanly possible. Wells concluded the subject by saying that they haven't revealed all the online modes just yet, so we'll keep an eye out for further announcements. Then, Amy H mentioned the Uncharted movie, which has actually been in production for about a year and a half-
"We’re really excited about the development of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune as a movie — we’ve been working with Arad Productions for the last year-and-a-half or so, and couldn’t be happier about their enthusiasm for the project."
A year and a half? Really? So that means they must've started production on the film mere months after the original title came out, and it further means the movie can't be too far off… This is one of those times when the game lends itself perfectly to the big screen, and we'd like to think that Hollywood can't possibly mess it up. But don't underestimate 'em…Hollywood can mess up anything .
