You may not have heard much about it since its launch in December of last year, but plenty of people have flocked to this innovative online social community.

Jack Tretton had some impressive statistics to report during Sony's E3 press conference today, and it began with the fact that there are 6.5 million Home members, and even more importantly, 85% are "return users." This follows hot on the heels of the PSN numbers, which sit at 24 million active accounts and 475 million pieces of content downloaded to date. Furthermore, there have been over 1.5 million "engagements" in the EA Sports Home space since it opened last month, and Tretton promises much more in the way of content in the future. Many publishers will contribute to Home, including EA, Ubisoft, Activision, Capcom, Namco and Eidos, and as our host said, Home is where gamers want to go to "connect with their friends and favorite franchises." If you only wandered into Home when it first launched and haven't been back since, you'll be surprised at the new size and scope of this virtual community. And remember, they're only going to keep adding to it, so keep checking back.

This wasn't exactly the highlight of the conference, but it's good to know that a massive undertaking like Home is doing well.

I really enjoy home for social networking. Some of the mini-games are pretty lame though.

Texas Hold-Em in the EA Sports Complex is one exception. As a poker player, I find it addicting.

Still waiting for my virtual picture frames, virtual stereo, virtual TV and my own arcade games. These are the things that'll make me want to invite friends back to my personal space. Till then, meh.

Home is good for being social… It's not something I do a lot though

maybe if more of my real life friends owned ps3's.

I'm in the same boat Jian2069. I know one person personally that has a PS3 and they hardly use it for games anymore 😛 Let alone being "social" 😛 ugh …I can't wait for custom music and video in my Home spaces and clubs.

It's a good beginning. I really hope to see spaces for rpg enthusiasts, now THAT'D be sweet.

A Gran Turismo Home space would be greatly appreciated as well.

Unfortunately with HOME there is a long way to go. HOME should be the epicentre of the PS3; and it is not… there is a "disconnect" between HOME, your avatar and the XMB… it doesn't feel integrated enough for me.

Navigation of menus and quick "short cut" launches into HOME spaces is missing from the XMB. Needs to be faster and smoothly to navigate!
