Demon’s Souls Official Website Opens, Online Gameplay Details

We already know that Atlus will be bringing the critically acclaimed Demon's Souls to North America, and to celebrate that fact, the official site has now gone live.

You will also find the first official trailer for the PlayStation 3 exclusive RPG, so now's the time to get an eyeful of what many are calling the most challenging and rewarding role-playing title of the generation. Atlus was quick to cite the Eurogamer review that awarded Demon's Souls a 9 out of 10 and added that one "can learn to love the game like few others in the world." We have heard that the learning curve is quite steep, which may turn away many would-be consumers, but hardcore RPG fans are already salivating. We could use a good challenge these days, right? And let's not forget about the excellent online multiplayer that ties in with the engaging single-player. As the press release reads:

"Revolutionary online features support your adventure like never before, presenting seamless interconnectivity that serves in every instance to enhance the single-player game. Team up with two other players in simultaneous cooperative play, working together to topple some of the game's colossal bosses, or force your way into the games of skilled players and challenge them to PvP battle. Leave hints and clues for those who will follow in your footsteps; either intentionally or through your own inadvertent demise, your bloodstains will allow your successors to view a replay of your death, hinting at how to avoid your gruesome fate. Unprecedented in its depth and subtlety, peerless in its relentlessly challenging gameplay, Demon's Souls is the ultimate action RPG."

You know, reading stuff like this makes us very…comfortable. It seems that with every significant step we take in certain genres, the fans respond with both vigor and appreciation. There's little doubt that Demon's Souls will be a huge addition to the PS3 US library, and we can't wait to get our hands on it.  It's set to release some time later this year.

Now this is more like it!

More of these games please! The Online sounds incredible. Trailer was outstanding.

EDIT: just noticed the PS3 logo is the same as the rumoured slim design…

Just one question to anyone who owns this game: Are there towns and cities where you can rest and buy items and stuff?

I wish I knew more about this game but the online does sound pretty cool.

So when is Atlus going to start making *Atlus* games for the PS3?

I love their games to death but it seems bizarre that they're still cranking them out for the PS2.

Wow the trailer at the sit looks amazing….
It literally makes me want to get this thing

Wasn't 100% sure before

Fallout what? Demon's Soul seems way more deep/engaging

The fact that it's a 3rd person game is even better!
