Uh-oh…look what Sony and Square-Enix went and did. They went and made a very attractive PlayStation 3 bundle that, while not yet confirmed, is gonna appeal to a wide variety of consumers who love the idea of getting a Blu-Ray movie for free .
This here is a picture of the new PS3 bundle that, according to Kotaku , has already started arriving at select GameStop locations. It's simple really: buy a PS3, get the Blu-Ray edition of "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children" tossed in for no additional charge ($399). Nothing else has changed; that's still the 80GB machine, but the addition of "Advent Children" should be enough to tempt many a prospective PS3 owner. However, you may have to move fast: it seems this is a "one time only pack-in" so once it's gone, it's gone. The day of reckoning is Tuesday, June 2 – coincidentally, the same day as Sony's E3 press conference and the street date for the movie – so if you haven't yet picked up Sony's console, next week may be the time. Furthermore, this seems exclusive to GameStop, but Kotaku mentions that Best Buy may be getting a bundle offer of their own, so stay tuned for more details when and if they become available.
Sony appears to be pulling out all the stops in terms of console promotion these days; the bundles have been frequent and typically well-received. Is this the one to finally coerce you into a purchase?
