2K Rep Clarifies: Bioshock 2 Set For Simultaneous Release

It's easy to get all carried away when an official wording is somewhat vague and left open to interpretation.

This week, 2K spoke a bit about Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams during an earnings call, but what was said didn't instill a whole lot of confidence in the PlayStation 3 community. In fact, it almost sounded as if this sequel might be another timed exclusive… Now, we were almost 100% certain that it would be a simultaneous launch on both consoles this time around, and 2K had said as much earlier. So everyone got a little amped up about this, until VG247 cleared things up: as you can see, a 2K rep stated via e-mail that the call was "oddly worded," and people needn't panic. The title is set to release October 30 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, and that's that. Sometimes, we let ourselves get caught up in the underground rumors and hype, so it's often best to go straight to the source. In this case, the wording was just a little off, but the truth of the matter remains thankfully unchanged. See how simple that was?

So anyway, Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams is definitely on our "most wanted" list for 2009. How about yours?

Boring??? You must of been playing the wrong game or something, the 1st Bio Shock is a future classic. One of those games that will never leave my game catalog. Pure fun from the very first splicer I busted in the head with the wrench, to the last big daddy you take down.

I love the FPS meets odd RPG mechanics. It just worked. An awesome story line didn't hurt either! Makes you ponder the reality of predictive programing!

and puzzle game…and adventure game…and strategy game…well, bioshock had legs to do almost everything. kind of open world too, now that i think about it. very few games compare.

Bioshock is an awesome game with a gripping story, good sounds and great graphics. Not to mention the parts that make you feel tense 😛
