Ah yes, the Greatest Hit. The perfect excuse to head down to the store and take advantage of heavily discounted games that are too good to ignore any longer.
Today, Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) has announced that six more PlayStation 3 titles have been added to the "Greatest Hits" library. As of June 16, some of the best games of the new generation will be available for the very agreeable price of $29.99, so at that point, it's time to play catch-up. This is the second set of titles to achieve the lofty Greatest Hit status on the PS3, so there are more than a few bargains for PS3 owners. The six games in question are:
Okay, so Prologue actually only drops $10 because the initial price tag sat at $40, but the others will be half the original $60 sticker. From our standpoint, at least four games on that list are absolute must-plays, while one is a solid and entertaining option for all FPS fans ( Battlefield ) and the other is good fun if you've got a friend to play with ( Army of Two ). Just think: you can pick up any two of these awesome titles for the price of one normally priced game…and that's nothing to sneeze at, considering the quality here.
Slightly urprised by Army of 2 BFBC and DMC4 but the rest were obvious.
I gotta pick up prologue I havent played that one yet
I think you should go get it right now. A totally must own title. I have converted a few 360 friends to PS3s with that game alone.
i haven't had the chance to play it either. i'm missing out
Nice. Kinda wish Hot Shots Golf had made the list too. I'm looking for an excuse to buy a second copy since the one I have is camped out in my son's PS3. I'd rather not line Gamestop's pockets by purchasing a used copy.
HSG didn't sell well enough. Shame.
Also, it's a first-party game and Sony apparently doesn't want to sell any of those.

So why are they still charging $60 for the first Uncharted? If ever there was a game that needed to go on the "Greatest Hits" list…
Yeah I would also add Heavenly Sword. Both amazing games, but getting on in years.
Thinking the same thing.
Uncharted still sells to well to justify dropping it's price and including it in the Greatest Hits range. The Greatest Hit's range is not just about recognizing greatest hits, it's also a strategy to increase sales of titles that are no longer selling as well as they once were.
I would never buy uncharted or any of the games on that list for $60 normally, not because they aren't worth it…because they are…but in these times, my wallet can't take a hit like that…now $30 is so much more agreeable…

cause uncharted had a slow burn it didn't start of popular. it's just now getting it's due and well earned respect.
Ratchet and Clank Here I come. Been waiting for this drop.
Nice nice
ps1 was known for their Greatest Hits, amazing how I bought FFVII for $19.99 back in the days hehe
But yeah always good to get these greatest hits. Amazed Heavenly Sword and Uncharted aren't in tnis…
i wish i bought a greatest hits copy of FFVII. I still have my original release from 1995 that it got from a friend. its beat to hell and freezes when i try to play it on my PS3. With used copies on ebay and amazon going for 50 to 100 bucks, my only hope is they finally release it on the US PSN like they did in Japan. Or a remake would be nice.
ASTONISHED!
Except Army of Two & DMC4 all these games are already certified PLATINUM and being sold at discount rates in the UK, i thought it was already the same in the US…
SCEA often moves with the agility of a glacier.
LOL
lol lol @ the highlander
LOL i guess we got pros and cons on both continents. U guys get some games first and we get platinum hits first,ha!
I'm tempted to pick up DMC4 now that it's seen a price drop but I'm getting my reserved copy of inFamous tomorrow and I got a feeling that's gonna keep me busy for awhile.
blah… none of those are "hits" to me. was hoping to see Uncharted to finally play it before "2" comes out but alas…
also… alot of those "hits" have been selling new for a lot lower in a lot of different stores for a good while now

"THERE. ARE. FOUR. LIGHTS!"
MGS4 at $30 is just a steal for anyone who hasn't played it.
…except they'll probably announce a "Substance" version soon.
p.s. Finally, some new Greatest Hits. I've been saying that they're overdue for months. I'll echo earlier comments and say that I can't believe that first-party games like Uncharted and Heavenly Sword aren't on the list.
Does Sony not want my money?

I wonder why I'm so happy, since I already have these games.
Battlefield and AoT are already under 20 dollars. What gives? The prices are going up on those two?
THANK YOU! I've been waiting for R&C for the longest.
I saw Battlefield bad company and Army of 2 for $20 new for a few months now
I beat MGS4 cause I borrowed it from a friend, but now I can finally buy it. YAY 😀 just hope they add trophies. Should I get Prologue though? cause I want to wait for the full game but I need a racer…
I can finally get MGS4 and R&C so I am happy.I just hope that the next batch includes Heavenly sword and Uncharted.
Wait a minute Ben, I live in Raleigh, NC and Army of Two is about $20.00. Why is it going up in price?
Heavenly Sword is a great game and sadly, Heavenly Sword 2 was cancelled because of poor sales. This was one of my early buys, kinda short but cool gameplay.
The Greatest Pits! I own the better half of that list already. Not complaining just exicted for Op Anchorage 🙂
Not ONE "Barbie" title??!!!…
"Schananigans! Schananigans!"
My wife will be distraught.
