First we had the Sixaxis, which quickly became the Dual Shock 3. But SplitFish wants to give PlayStation 3 owners even more options, and both will be officially unveiled at E3.
As revealed by That Gaming Site , SplitFish has announced the Dual SFX Evolution and the Dual SFX Frag Pro, two new PS3 exclusive controllers set to be released later this fall. You can see the pictures of each controller in that promotional shot, and they're clearly quite original. Said co-founder and head of creative development for SplitFish AG, Jason Johnson:
"We want to change the way people think about playing on game consoles. This FREVOLUTION X split-controller series was born from our customer and pro gamer wish list of control surfaces and designed around the natural macro/micro mechanics employed by your mind when playing action games. The result is an evolved, feature packed, customizable dual-controller setup that brings out the best in individual gaming styles."
Both controllers will be fully customizable (yay!) and not surprisingly, they'll be wireless as well. These probably won't appeal to all you RPG and action buffs out there, but those of you who want new ways to interact with your sports and flight titles should take heed. Oh, and these controllers will also work with any PS2 games you might be able to play on your PS3, too. The rumor that Sony will announce a new motion-sensing Wii-like controller for the PS3 continues to circulate but these are definitely confirmed. What do you think?
I'm content with what I have they can keep that
Well said.
I have the FragFX from splitfish and absolutely hate it.
Really? I also have a FragFX and I love it. I'm curious what you hate about it.
I originally thought this was a nice idea for those PC gamers who just could not grasp the dual analog control scheme. Though now, after playing against some gamers who use these controllers in online games I can no longer stand the idea of these devices. They give some players to much advantage in online shooters, which ultimately send me off to find another room with more balanced competition.
maybe ill give it a try, but first i want to see some moving pictures and reviews
Don't suppose this means we'll actually see more flight games coming soon does it?
This is a cool idea, but is anyone else getting tired of all the accesories that seem to be flooding the shelves this generation? I know frag FX is a accessory company, but I still remember when I used to get in trouble for waving the controller around as a kid while playing..now that's what you're supposed to do…my brain hurts..lol
Why is Sony trying to fix something that isn't broken? The controller irks me, I'll stay with DualShock 3, yes…
this isn't a sony product, it's an aftermarket company
maybe it's just the angles of the pictures, but they confuse me. I'll stick to the old DS3, thank you very much.
weird lookin.
is it 2 handed?
Lmfao
Mmmmmm, how about… no?
What's wrong with Sony.
A new controller come on.
F**k NO.
WOW people, this isn't Sony making this controller. It's an accessory.
that looks about as good as the original bannana sixaxis
hey! i actually want one of those!!!
i wish sony would have actually released it… i'd pay big bucks 4 it…
not everyone hates it…
Well,
I hope that's much easier to use as their eyeFx 3d adapter glasses were.
Just way too many damned adjustments to overcome for "each" game, & I could never get them dialed in just right on any of them.
I can see that this controller may suit some but I think I'll stick to the standard controller. Options are always good but I'd rwather see a cheap but quality flight stick or wheel. £50 isn't cheap.
I have a rule with all my consoles,if sony or nintendo didn't have their hands making it i don't buy it, i made that mistake with buying a madcats battery cause it was suppose to last longer and it screwed up my PSP and now i don't have my PSP anymore 🙁
madcats = fail…
bluetooth Headset = fail
ps2 60mb mem card = fail
"Skinz" = Fail
now ps1 madcat accessories were actually well made and not fail…
