It blew everyone away when it debuted at E3 2006 but has remained very quiet since then, only enjoying a semi-successful launch in Japan last August. We've been wondering if it would ever see the light of day in North America, but now we have the confirmation: Afrika is indeed on the way.
As several sources are reporting, including Examiner.com and a IGN (who has already gone hands-on with the game), Natsume will be distributing the title in this region some time later this year. Rhino Studios was at the helm for the development responsibilities and lest you forget, you play a wildlife photographer who must embark on a variety of quests where you hunt down and "capture" the exotic animal life on the African plains. The better you perform, the more money you earn and the more equipment you can experiment with; you will be able to have direct control over your character (it won't be an "on-rails" experience as some have postulated in the past), and you will sneak through the underbrush to obtain the ideal position. At that point, you will enter a first-person camera mode and patiently and skillfully address the multitude of options. There will be multiple modes available as well and if you enjoy artistic and unique titles, this game should be right up your alley. No, you won't be hunting these creatures but anyone who has hidden aspirations of being a professional photographer will stand up and take notice.
We're already on top of this, too; our preview will go up in just a few short minutes… You can wait that long, can't you? Have patience.

I'd love to have more variety of games for the PS3, but I don't think I want to pay $60 to take pictures of fake animals.
$60 for a virtual safari when the chances of taking a real safari in Africa are very small indeed and the cost ranges in the several thousands just for a week or two? $60 is a bargain.
It could be a wonderful virtual experience… it will good one day when it is in full 3D though… can you imagine a lion looking straight at you… with that ominous 3D stare!
Q!
"i am home"
never tought this would come to US or EU.
Indeed. Good news isn't it?
This game looks and sounds interesting i would rent before i bought for this game.
I'll probably get it, I'm an amateur photographer and this is right up my "alley."
I wish they would include a punch or throw feature, that'd be hilarious, punching a rhino or monkey only to get trampled or destroyed by wild animals. Hey… it's the risk that these photographers take right?
YES!!! THANK YOU NATSUME!!!
Once again, you prove why you are my favorite publisher. You bring me the games I want, that no one else will.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
