Electronic Arts Los Angeles may have dropped the ball with Command & Conquer: Tiberium – the team suspended development as the game wasn't "on track to meet the high quality standards" – but that doesn't mean they'll stop trying to produce an ambitious, groundbreaking FPS.
According to this job listing , EALA is seeking an Art Director to work on "a brand new first-person shooter project in the very beginning stages of development." Not surprisingly, the job description doesn't include the actual name of the title, but they do say it's "the best project we've ever worked on." …now, EA has produced a great many games in the past so this is no small statement. Some believe they may be talking about a new Medal of Honor , which has been all but confirmed thanks to Jericho Green's online work experience. If it is MoH, it means EALA may be looking to take the franchise in an entirely new direction; what else can we assume if it's the "best project they've ever worked on"? Whatever this game is, we'll certainly be looking for an announcement or official unveiling of some kind at E3, because we have renewed faith in EA. They've given us some pretty entertaining games in the past year or so, and although the FPS genre is completely stacked, we figure they've got the resources to drop a true competitor into the market.
Bold statements make the world go 'round. Well, the journalism world, at any rate. Stay tuned!
Possibly new MOH???
I love all these devs trying to one-up each other in the FPS realm. When they compete we Win!
"a brand new first-person shooter project in the very beginning stages of development"
Doesn't sound like an existing series. Has to be a new IP. My guess?
Modern Warfare clone.
As tire as I am of FPS I want to see maybe a fusion of a basketball game and fps.
You get a thumbs up as long as you're being sarcastic.
Lol..I didn't add /sarcasm cause it sounded really obvious.
In all seriousness companies need to stop with the fps already. It's a flooded and now boring field and there is no need for one unless is Black 2 of course.
Like in "shooting up the courts"????
Nahhhh!
Don't these people know RPGs are where it's at?
thumbs up for you!
Has EA ever made an RPG?
@sunspider, I don't think so but it's never too late to get into the game!
Looks like another game I will not be buying. I am very tired of FPS games. Sorry all you shooter fans, but I think there are plenty going around and the only one I may pick up is Modern Warfare 2 just because I think they can make one that is going to capture my interest. I want action-adventure, I want RPG, I want VARIETY!
exactly!
Wow. Could EA have been any more vague?
They shouldnt even develop a single player for it….just concentrate 100% on a kick ass online FPS shooter
…because more FPS are exactly what we need.
I'm so burnt out… give it a rest.
FPS games r great
I want a WWII action RPG with the same type of gameplay similar to Fallout 3.
Your childhood would be replaced with boot camp and training.
The Wasteland could become France and the surrounding areas.
The Normandy invasion could become the exiting of the vault.
Just a thought..
ooooh no not another ww2 game!!
why has everyone forgotten about BLACK2?
c'mon guys….
Seems like EA's forgotten about it.
I would think they would keep the guys who did it right the first time round on the project; Criterion.

Judging by all of the thumbs down it seems there are a lot of fps lovers here.;)
It seems so.
I don't want another FPS…I got MAG, Resistance, Killzone, Modern Warfare, *sighs* do I even have to mention the 3rd PS's???
EA stop with the shooters plz? You got enough of them.
Best project, I'm impressed with their games.
Especially Dead Space which was perfect and it was better than RE5 million times.
But this will be their best project yet, the only way for them to do a 'real' best project is a project which they use blu ray to it's full potential which I think is highly unlikely since EA are the most neutral developer and they do multiplats(which is why I respect them).
