Some people were just standing in all the right lines before birth. If you check Hugh Jackman's profile and bio, you will see that he's not just an action superstar; he's a Broadway singer and dancer, a very talented actor in multiple venues, and oh yeah, even the men have to admit he's kinda good-looking. Toss in the fact that he never seems anything less than charming and amiable in all interviews, and…damn, it's irritating. It's just not fair .
But hey, he's the star of the video game adaptation of his newest film, X-Men Origins: Wolverine , and that falls into our wheelhouse so we can't just ignore him. In a recent Yahoo! Games interview , Jackman talks about his involvement in the production of the game, and his own gaming history. As it turns out, he played the likes of Galaga , Space Invaders , and Pac-Man "whenever he could afford to" when he was a kid, and although he's not so much into games now, he did try the last X-Men title. He didn't too well, but at least he tried it, right? Obviously, for our part, the most intriguing part of the interview came when he was asked what his involvement was in Wolverine . Jackman's answer:
"There was no motion-capture but I did a lot of voiceover. I did more voiceover for this than I’ve ever done before. The story line follows, very vaguely, the movie storyline, but it actually goes beyond that as well. And of course for a game, you have to have various numbers of outcomes along the whole way, so we worked on it for over a year. I was very involved with it. I wanted the videogame to be as true to the character as I could, for the movie, and make it an experience that I think fans wanted."
See? So likeable it's annoying. But it's not all roses; the game isn't the most amazing action title of the year, even if it is bringing down some decent review scores. Stay tuned for our review, but in the meantime, it seems that if you're a fan of the movie, you should probably enjoy the game, and there aren't any major issues with it. So even then …damnit! Oh yeah, well…I bet I can curl more than this guy! Yeah. Take that .

So did anyone enjoy the movie? I'll be waiting on the blu ray.
it seems that the key to having a good movie-game tie in, is having good actors, that generally care about the characters, and not their pay checks.
Somebody did. It made around $87 mil over the weekend last I checked.
I enjoyed the movie. He's definately someone I look up to as well.
One of my friends paid for my ticket because I wasn't going to pay for what Fox is passing for movies these days. Hugh did the best he could with the script he had. The movie was a disaster.
I thought the movie was off the chain! it was awesome yo, its worth every penny!
I watched it, it was okay for public audiences. But if you're a fan of the Marvel Comics and such, they really don't keep to the what the characters are supposed to be, biggest example being DeadPool. Sigh, I loved DeadPool and they ruined him 🙁 oh well. But all-in-all, I say it was worth the money I paid for.
that "shhhhhh" clip after the credits with just made me want to jump off a cliff..
The movie was great. Comic book fans won't like it because that's how they are. They can't be pleased.
I saw him at our local gym here in New Zealand last yr when he came here to film Wolverine.. Damn those guns of his!! arghhhh
Crap he was here in NZ.. in a gym???
Arrrrgh lol, what city? And how big were his guns roughly?
=D
Is he the sexiest man in the World???
yeah he was.. They did most of the filming in the South Island but then came up to the capital Wellington for a short break. Liev schreiber lived here for a few months a while back whilst Naomi Watts filmed King Kong at my backyard (almost literally!) and he absolutely loved this place 😀
"Oh yeah, well…I bet I can curl more than this guy! Yeah. Take that."
LOL
Hugh is so awesome it's disgusting…
hahaha
Yeah, let's not forget that the guy bench presses 315lbs. He was on the front cover of one of my Men's Fitness magazines a few months ago.
I dont understand the Hugh Jackman hate, he's an awesome actor, good pick for wolverine. The game is really good, despite it's few flaws, Im having a fricken blast with it.
I didn't like the movie, but Hugh Jackman definitely wasn't the reason why. I love him. =)
Just the script and story was poorly done. Jackman is still awesome, though. *swoons*
Yeah the movie wasn't amazing but I think it was decent atleast. Probably worth renting when it comes out at the very least. The game is so much more hardcore than the movie, you get shot and you see almost literally your guts hanging out! How awesome would that be if it was an R rated movie?!?
Anyway, hey ben did you get arnold a thumbs down because you're jealous of mr.jackman? 😛
