Patapon 2 Possible For PSN On PS3?

So it seems PSP owners will finally get the long-awaited sequel to Patapon , and although we're still not aware of the reasons for such a delay, we do have some interesting news.

According to Joystiq, Associate Producer Chris Hinojosa-Miranda has said the team has gotten numerous requests for a downloadable version of the game to come to the PlayStation Store. In other words, a lot of people want to be able to play Patapon 2 on the PlayStation 3, and that sounds like a great idea to us. And oh yeah, if it does come to the PSN, shouldn't it boast online multiplayer modes? Well, Hinojosa-Miranda says this suggestion is worthy of their attention and they're currently looking into the idea. As for the continuation of this popular and critically acclaimed series, there's no real surprise:

"There's such a critical love for Patapon, the characters, the story overall, and the music especially … there's a good chance that the franchise will continue."

Well, of course! If you're not familiar, you can always check out some reviews, but it's basically a music-based rhythm game that sends you to war with…well, with the beat at your disposal. Get the rhythm and your combat strategy right, and you will succeed; those little Patapons will do their bidding if your feet are a-tappin' to the rhythm. It's so very cool, and it'd be a fantastic addition to the PSN! Patapon 2 will release for the PSP in North America on May 5.

I never really picked up the original… But the demo was cool
it looks like one of those games that would consume a lot of time…

i dont think will do put on ps3 since they're obviously trying to end the psp by giving massive titles and showing a the rumored psp go

wish they would put psp titles on the ps3. people would still buy both, to play at home in 720/1080p and on the go with their psp 🙂

I already posted saying this same thing. It makes sense to me, people buy the PSP version to play it on the go, and people who don't have a PSP will buy the PS3 version if the game is good enough. They will make more money, and no one is going to say, well I guess I don't need a PSP, I can get all the games on the PS3. People buy PSP for different reasons.

Pleaseplease do this.. I'd love to be able to play Patapon after everything I've heard about it… but, I don't own a PSP.

This would make me so happy. ;___;

I would like a genuine loco roco experience as well using the six axis (with alternate standard controls as well) to control the background. The loco roco cocorocho (or however it is spelled) version is ok, but I want a fully featured loco experience.

I would get Patapon in an instant in it was on PSN for PS3. Maybe then afterwards I would get a PSP if they started putting more games on PSN

I'd like to see Patapon 2 on the PS3. I have a Nintendo DS Lite as I felt it was more suitable for me when it came to handheld gaming (you all need to try out Chinatown Wars) so I'd like the chance to play one of the top PSP games on the PS3.

I'll probably own a PSP someday, though.

I was going to buy this through the PSN today for my PSP since I heard it might go for 14.99 vs. 19.99 at a retail shop for the voucher. Well, this wasn't the case. It was listed at 19.99 online so I'm going to go buy a pretty case with the voucher as I'd like to have something since it is the same price. Way to go, Sony.
