Yesterday, the official US PlayStation site teased an "electrifying announcement" ; the advertisement included photographs of both inFamous and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves .
Sony will officially lift the lid on this announcement on April 27, which is only a few days away, but we may already have the answer. A Kotaku reader has provided the info-hungry Internet gamer hordes with a piece of visual evidence : it's a photo of Best Buy pre-order placeholder display boxes for inFamous , which clearly illustrate two interesting points: firstly, if you pre-order, you'll gain access to the inFamous playable demo, and secondly, you will also receive a voucher for an early introduction to the upcoming multiplayer beta test for Uncharted 2 . Now, considering that Uncharted: Drake's Fortune was a strictly single-player adventure, it's huge news to learn that the sequel will boast a multiplayer option. That's first and foremost. It's further surprising to learn Naughty Dog is scheduling a multiplayer beta test, which usually only happens with titles that would feature multiplayer as a major focus. More leaked info around the 'Net has unofficially confirmed this information, so don't be surprised when Sony says exactly this come April 27.
As if Uncharted 2 wasn't already at the top of our Most Anticipated list for 2009; now it's gonna have multiplayer ? And we'll get to play it well before the game comes out? …yeah, that sounds totally bad-ass.
