We're finally well past the days of inferior Xbox 360-to-PlayStation 3 ports, so multiplatform games on the two systems are usually almost identical. Therefore, small bonuses like this can tip the scale in one certain direction for the consumer…
This is an advertisement in PlayStation Home, and it clearly says that those who pick up the PS3 version of Batman: Arkham Asylum will be able to play as the devilish Joker in the Challenge levels exclusive to Sony's platform. (source- Kotaku ) Apparently, this ad shouldn't have been up so early as it seems the PR rep Kotaku spoke to was surprised…well, the press has it now, buddy, so there's no going back! The cat seems to be out of the bag, although we have no idea if the 360 version will also feature an exclusive bonus of some kind. If you're not aware, Challenge Maps are extras that exist outside of the main quest, where players can zip through the levels again and again, trying to come up with the best score. Now, being able to play as The Joker is a huge incentive for fans of the Caped Crusader, which means if they don't own a PS3, they're gonna be annoyed. But we expect the official news to arrive at some point, and it's very possible that Xbox 360 owners will get a bonus goody, too. You may recall Soul Calibur IV ; the PS3 version featured Darth Vader while the Xbox 360 version boasted Yoda. So it has certainly been done before.
We'll wait on the press release for this – it's bound to show up at some point – but for now, just rejoice in the knowledge that the PS3 version of Arkham Asylum will have something mighty special.

That is just awesome! I'm going to probably get this game because it sounds super duper awesome.
Sweet. Just hope they do the character justice and don't dumb him down too much.
Uhg… I don't like this. I mean the content is cool and all. I just hate "Exclusive" DLC on multiplatform games.
The 360 better get something of equal value.
i believe this to be a good mindset but honestly all 360 fanboys wouldn't extend the same feelings for us(GTA exclusive) so i wont be extending them the courtesy
I just feel that if its unacceptable for the 360 to get Exclusive DLC on Multiplats, Its unacceptable for the PS3 to do the same.
Edit: I got down voted for not having a double standard?

I agree it's silly. A cheap way to make a game marginally more attractive. I don't see the point.
Wow, Come on people! Give me some more down votes!
When the next Multiplat game gets some exclusive 360 DLC don't come complaining to me saying its not fair! God knows its not be a problem unless it inconveniences you!
I gave you thumbs up ;]
That mindset is stronger than the thought of discourtesy from the opposing fanboys. We can't be the same.
The 360 has been getting all the exclusive content this generation just ask Rockstar,Valve and Eidos Interactive they'll tell you.PS3 finally gets one just 1 tiny little dlc and people can't take it..
who said it was a DLC? it could be in the disc…
Hey I'm with you, it's just the nature of the beast, *thumbs up*.
@supremekai
Its a DLC pack at launch, It most likely could have been on the disk. Heck it could be just a unlock key for all we know. But its free so, *shrugs* At least they aren't cheating people out of money. I hope the 360 gets its own exclusive maps of something cool as well.
@JDHexen
If it wasn't right when the 360 got EDLC, what makes it right for the PS3 to get it?

I'm looking forward to this game now, i just need to know if i will get my full $65 out of it. If they can promise a 15 hour single player with side quests then im sold
I think the only thing Exclusive DLC is good for is feeding the trolls who childishly argue why their consoles better.
Well, it shouldn't make much difference. It didn't take all that long for the extra characters in SCIV to be downloadable for the opposite platform. Still, for now it is quite the coup.
IGN actually has an official story on this. I don't got the link though.
I think exclusive dlc makes all the difference. If you have both consoles, wich Batman game are you going to get? (same for Fallout3 and GTAIV) It's an attractant. That's all it is. Why wouldn't Sony and MS vie for more software sales for their own console when the majority of games are multiplat? How else do you make a difference? I have never complained about 360 exclusive dlc even though I don't own one and probably never will. Good for them… and now… good for us.
Even without joker dlc, this game looks awesome. Looking forward to reading the reviews.
This is great.
This is awesome. Can't wait for this game.
Ben? Is that your avatar in the image?
LOL Oh yeah, real close. 😉
No, it's Ramza from Final Fantasy Tactics.
Who
Ah ok 🙂 I thought you made him look like yourself irl…becoz then I would've had to call ya baldie 😛
Everybody's confused.
Ben: he wants to know if the picture in the article is your Home avatar.
WolfCrimson: his site avatar is Ramza.
RustEDalex: Ramza was the main character that the player uses in Final Fantasy Tactics.
Everybody clear now? good. continue conversing.
OMGGGGG
that was mildly amusing!!!
Good job guys =D
I can't decide if I'm going to get this game!
I played the demo On Wed. after I preordered my Origins Wolverine! It is a very good looking game, the controls are really fluid, but I HATED the fact that the only attack button is "Square" and counter is "Triangle". Same buttons over and over. Loved the "Detective" mode. Looked kinda like daredevils sight in a god awful movie a few yers ago…
It is a maybe for me right now. Looks pretty, but I hate only one attack button.
I finally got to see the Bane and the Harley Quinn movies that have been up and I must say I'm almost sold on this one. I just to need to see some more game play movies and I might have something to do for a couple of weeks.
Being able to play as the Crown Prince of Crime is a plus…
Im sure the xbox will get some cool bonus character like batgirl 🙁
