Aerosmith, Metallica, The Beatles, and now Van Halen is up next to star in their own game. We've long suspected a Van Halen branded Guitar Hero game to be on its way, but Activision never confirmed as such, but rather only hinted at the possibility. Well, today brings us one step closer to confirmation, as a listing for Guitar Hero: Van Halen popped up somewhere, and not in some random retailer's database, something a bit more crucial.

The USK, Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle (three times, say it!), German's videogame ratings board (their equivalent of the ESRB) has rated Guitar Hero: Van Halen, which pretty much confirms that the game is well under way, and Activision just needs to confirm their worst kept secret, already. One weird thing we should mention is that in the USK's database, the GH game reads as "Guitar Hero Headlining: Van Halen", we're not quire sure if this is a mistake, or perhaps a specific name that Activision will be using in other territories.

We have a sneaking suspicion that E3 will be the time and place where our questions will be answered and confirmations made, with a release to arrive sometime in the Fall of this year. Also, with Rock Band: The Beatles to boast themed instruments, we're curious to see if Activision goes for the same plan and themes their bundled VH instruments – after all, Eddie Van Halen is known for the various designs that grace his guitars. Time will tell.

Hell yes! I love Van Halen, and this is definitely a very good idea. It seems as if they are going with the most popular bands first, and working down from there. Which, if that's the case, we could have a Guitar Hero: KISS, Megadeth, or even Rush.

Kinda' doubt a Megadeth or Rush GH would sell. Even a KISS GH is somewhat pushing it.

Bring on Led Zeppelin and Queen, though.

We wont get Zeppelin much to my dismay, but Queen sounds like a good possibility. I lke Queen ūüôā And I would have to argue that a GH: Megadeth could, in fact, sell quite well. They've already released the entire Peace Sells album for rock band, and they are the second most popular metal band in history after all…

This one i might buy. I LOVE Van Halen. I suppose it would be too much to ask for a Def Leppard GH, eh? That would be awesome.

Ugh, this is ridiculous. I'm sorry, sure I love these bands but how long are they able to milk this thing? I wish they would stop releasing new full 60$ games for this instead of essentially 20$ dlc or 20$ update packs or something. And then when you buy the game you get about 15 songs from the band the game is about and about 30-40 from entirely random bands, wouldn't the point of these to at least play all the music from these epic bands?

i've always wondered this, whats the point of releasing group games like aerosmith, metallica, etc ,and have songs from other groups..

i was a bit let down from gh metallica because of this..it should be metallica eccentric no?…

btw,i would love to see a SLAYER GH game,of course the icing on the cake will be Guns and Roses.
