Aerosmith, Metallica, The Beatles, and now Van Halen is up next to star in their own game. We've long suspected a Van Halen branded Guitar Hero game to be on its way, but Activision never confirmed as such, but rather only hinted at the possibility. Well, today brings us one step closer to confirmation, as a listing for Guitar Hero: Van Halen popped up somewhere, and not in some random retailer's database, something a bit more crucial.

The USK, Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle (three times, say it!), German's videogame ratings board (their equivalent of the ESRB) has rated Guitar Hero: Van Halen, which pretty much confirms that the game is well under way, and Activision just needs to confirm their worst kept secret, already. One weird thing we should mention is that in the USK's database, the GH game reads as "Guitar Hero Headlining: Van Halen", we're not quire sure if this is a mistake, or perhaps a specific name that Activision will be using in other territories.

We have a sneaking suspicion that E3 will be the time and place where our questions will be answered and confirmations made, with a release to arrive sometime in the Fall of this year. Also, with Rock Band: The Beatles to boast themed instruments, we're curious to see if Activision goes for the same plan and themes their bundled VH instruments – after all, Eddie Van Halen is known for the various designs that grace his guitars. Time will tell.
