As you all know, the Japanese Blu-Ray release of "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children" also includes a one-hour playable demo of Final Fantasy XIII . And as expected, this has already sparked some rumored media and information.
According to GOONL!NE, the latest edition of OPM UK featured a full preview that boasted a playtest of FFXIII's gameplay. Obviously, everyone is assuming they're basing this preview on the demo that comes packaged with "Advent Children" in Japan, but there's no way of knowing. You can, however, check out all the magazine scans , which place the main characters in the limelight. The weird part? These scans were apparently taken from a pre-published edition of OPM UK, as a subscriber reports that two pages are missing; perhaps Square-Enix told them to drop the preview…? Our only problem with this explanation is that we're looking at a whole lot more than two pages when we peruse the leaked scans. Well, whatever the reason, we would like to think that some sources have managed to get their hands on that Japanese demo. At the very least, we should be able to expect hands-on features from magazines like Famitsu, and we'll definitely keep an eye out for that. All we really want are some new pics and a few new details.
Of course, it would help even more if we could play the demo ourselves, but that's probably too much to ask. Final Fantasy XIII is scheduled to launch in Japan later this year, but it still has a vague "TBA 2010" estimate for North America and Europe.
