We know that many RPG fans and PlayStation 3 owners were annoyed to learn that Star Ocean: The Last Hope would be an Xbox 360 exclusive – a move that still makes zero sense, Square-Enix – but it seems that tri-Ace has another role-playing project up their sleeve…and this one is for both the 360 and PS3.
The evidence is clear: check out the teaser website for a new RPG by the talented developer; it features nothing more than a countdown and the PS3 and 360 logos. Whatever it is, we can't wait for the announcement because as far as we're concerned, tri-Ace owes us PS3 owners an RPG! Oh, we know it's not the developer's fault, but even so, they used to be fiercely loyal to Sony platforms. Their history includes Star Ocean: The 2nd Story and Valkyrie Profile for the original PlayStation, Star Ocean: 'Til the End of Time , Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria , and Radiata Stories on the PS2, and of course, Infinite Undiscovery and Star Ocean: The Last Hope for the Xbox 360. The good news is that this new project appears to be tri-Ace's very first multiplatform title, because we can't seem to find a single game of theirs that hasn't been exclusive to one platform or another. Everyone has to branch out these days, it seems. Perhaps the first details and information will pop up in Famitsu or Dengeki at some point in the near future, and we'll be sure to keep an eye on the Internet.
But here's the other intriguing aspect of this: Square-Enix has published both of tri-Ace's efforts this generation. Enix published the games on the PlayStation before the merge. tri-Ace and S-E have never been without each other. …shouldn't we assume that S-E will be publishing this new RPG? Hence, shouldn't we also assume that S-E may have a multiplatform focus going forward? Or is that jumping the gun…?
ScrEwnix went multiplat with FFXIII.
FFXIII isn't made by tri-Ace.
Yeah but square enix is and will continue to ignore playstation base, just because tri ace decided to try and make it up to playstation owners does not mean SE is going to follow in same path.
Versus
April Fools!
I guess SE realize where there true fanbase is at. I hope they put forth an effort to used the ps3 cell processor. I want my $60 worth.
Maybe, it will be as good as the last multi-console game S-E released….. Oh wait, we never got that and they still never gave us information and a date….
From multi-platform to Xbox360 only maybe. I ain't too impressed with S-E anymore. Nor do I really that excited about them…
Gust, NIS, Atlus on the other hand, Keep up the good work! (Here's looking at you Atelier Rorona!)
I'll be more happy when they port Star Ocean 4 to the PS3 and get rid of the RealDoll models for something more stylized but not necessary as long as we get the game..
We have to accept it, I think rpgs are truly dead.
At least the ones with stories and such.
Though there'll be the occasional one like White Knight Story. But one good rpg every 3 years is not good enough to say that rpgs are still alive.
To busy with Demon's Souls to care for anything tri-Ace has to offer. Maybe tri-Ace should get pointers from From Software on how to make a real RPG.

how is demon's soul actually? worth an import?
@LegendaryWolfeh Demon's Souls is Oblivion in third person view on steroids. I imported it from ncsx for seventy-three dollars with shipping. Worth every penny and then some!

@Evilincarnate damn demon soul is that good I need to check it out maybe when it come to america.
I thought Tri-ace had something to do with Eternal Sonata, wait that was Tri-Crescendo.
Anyway, I'll believe this when I see it, I'm not too fussed that we didn't get the sub-par Last Remnant but I AM fussed that they broke their word once again. Don't trust that third rate publisher anymore.
Looking forward to the announcement (Hope it's better than Sony's)

I'm guessing that this game will be the next Valkyrie Profile game, or probably Grandia 4
OMG I hope it's another Valkyrie Profile game! They, very retardedly (yes, I am also a retard), made a VP game for the DS! Unbelievable!
Not ignoring the PS3? LOL honestly for a moment I thought this may be PSXExtreme's way of doing an April Fool's joke… except the site looks to real to actually be one

Hopefully Square Enix will understand what "Westernization" actually means. Oh by the way Square Enix…if you truly want YOUR TYPE OF WESTERNIZATION…then I strongly suggest oh…….I don't know making games for the PC – better yet EXCLUSIVELY. Almost everyone has one.
I'm sure the PS3 price drop article was the only April Fools joke.
And Ben & Co. wouldn't want to trick us twice…
?
=D
crossing my fingers…
