Who wants to know what Hideo Kojima's next project is? Let's see a show of hands…hey, your hand isn't raised! Get it up. NOW.
IGN sat down to chat with the legendary Metal Gear Solid creator at the Game Developers Conference and of course, the question everyone wanted an answer to was, "What type of project do you want to work on next?" Now, Kojima wouldn't provide us with a name or any concrete details, but he did say it would be officially announced at E3 in June! We can also wait for the full IGN interview where we expect a few more hints to arise, but we're plenty satisfied with this news for now. Kojima and his team have already said they intend to "start from zero" in 2009, and they also want to appeal more to the Western gaming audience. So there's no knowing what Kojima and Co. may come up with next, but we get the sneaking suspicion that it's going to be a departure from the critically acclaimed and massively popular MGS series. We don't expect it to be a FPS or RPG, but perhaps it'll be something in between…maybe it'll be a special blend of genres. I think we can all agree that whatever it is, if Kojima is at the helm, it's going to absolutely rock. Therefore, we can't wait for E3 to get the goods!
In the meantime, we're certain that every last source on the planet will be searching high and low for any new information concerning this game. We're willing to report on some rumors – if they're interesting – and we'll certainly stay on top of everything else.
