Cross Edge Confirmed For US Release

It's a nod to all the JRPG fans out there, as it features a collaboration of characters from multiple titles, all of whom will compete in an old-school, side-scrolling action/adventure. How sweet is this ?

Today, NIS America has confirmed that Cross Edge , their new PlayStation 3 exclusive, will release in North America on May 24. Co-developed by Nippon Ichi, Idea Factory, Gust, Namco Bandai and Capcom, the game will boast many different characters from previous RPGs. The list includes:

And although it sounds simple on the surface, the fans should understand that there will be plenty of depth. Cross Edge will have a standard action battle system that has you pressing all four face buttons on the controller for attacks, chain combos and special skills, and let's not forget about costume changes and "an extensive synthesizing system." Basically, you'll be moving through dungeons searching for treasure and as we understand it, the character who finds the most loot wins.

For more information, go ahead and visit the game's official site . JRPG fans everywhere have been hoping to see something more traditional on the PS3, and this is it…let's just hope this action/RPG is worth the price of admission!

Yay, I can't wait to try out Marlone. Too bad Atelier Marie – Alchemist of Salburg never made it out to North America.

Also glad to see Aurica again, Ar Tonelico was one of my favourite games.

I'm buying this one as soon as it comes out. This and Diablo III are what I'm waiting for. Oh yeah, Dissidia too.

I've been telling you guys this game was coming in May 2009 for months now. Hell, GameStop has even had it listed for a few weeks.

I was originally going to import this game from NCS, but I dropped it when I found out about the U.S. version.

Originally, the game was scheduled to come out next month; but NISA delayed it to include trophies, which weren't in the original Japanese version.

Next up… Bring Tears To Tiara out here (and WKC of course), another PS3 exclusive JRPG.

I love gaming. It makes me happy when skies are grey. You'll never know Sony how much I …….. Uh sorry.

Looks good. Funny how Sony is now getting tons of exclusives and games that were exclusive to the box but only better cough*NinjaGaiden2*cough and Sony just dropped the dev tool PS3 to a pathetically low price. Sh*t now most of us could afford to buy a PS3 developers kit.

Man it really seems like Sony got all they bases covered this year I'm very proud of them this is great news, I thought this game would've gotten alot of hits when they announced it for the US but I haven't seen to many people talking about it on the other sites since they revealed it earlier, I hope all the jrpg fans don't treat this like they did VC PS3 is finally getting jrpg love we have nothing to complain about anymore lets show our support!!

I knew nothing about this game until now, and now I am really excited! Gonna go see if Gamefly has it listed now. What a great surprise, thanks Ben!

EDIT: Crap, just noticed this is coming out THE SAME DAY as Virtua Tennis 09. My wallet weeps… as do my friends… for they will never see me after May 21st…

Intrigued… big time. One of those games I hope family doesn't see me playing. Costumes seem kinda risque. If it's anything like Odin Sphere play style. I am definately in.

This looks kind of fun… but… why do the graphics have to be so mediocre?
I know, I know… good graphics aren't everything, but they are nice to have. D:

The characters do look pretty fun. Haha, check out walking boobiez lolol.

Guess I was wrong bout Sony.
I always thought that they're so dumb not to keep their exclusives, but…….it seems that they get MORE exclusives instead.
So it's like you gain something when you lose something eh?
But Cross Edge?
As an RPG fan this is so on my shop list!

Sorry but "side scrolling rpg" doesn't do it for me. Not that I won't get this game, I just need more details before I buy. Right now it's sounding very "hack 'n slash" which is boring.

Glad you guys are happy, but i think i will wait for more details. Side scrolling rpg doesn't sound too thrilling to me.
