Max Payne has been out of the spotlight for quite some time now. Not since 2003 have we seen the pissed off cop star in a console game. Well, after the abysmal Max Payne movie, starring a not-so-bad Mark Wahlberg, Rockstar has finally announced the sequel we've all known would come sooner or later and it'll be arriving for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
"We’re starting a new chapter of Max's life with this game," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. "This is Max as we’ve never seen him before, a few years older, more world-weary and cynical than ever. We experience the downward spiral of his life after the events of Max Payne 2 and witness his last chance for salvation."
Set for a Winter 2009 release date, Max Payne 3 stars an even more depressed Max who has abandoned the NYPD and New York. We have to wonder, what will Rockstar add to the series that essentially created the whole slow-mo "bullet time" fad that has been in nearly every other action game since the early 2000s? Max Payne practically defined the future of shooters and action games, so expectations are high for this all new iteration.

lets hope this is a lot better than the movie
I thought Mark W. was excellent. 😀 I really liked that movie! 🙂
lol nasah i didnt like it much…..i like mark though hes cool
Oh Slim, takes me back to the days of EvO forums where kikr would disagree with just about anything looking for a fight 😛
I think if it was another actor I wouldn't have liked it either TBH but after seeing Shooter I've decided to see every movie he's in xD
About time, MP2 is addictive as hell and the storyline rocks.
And, this is not the secret exclusive. For starters, it's not even exclusive.
I loved the first two games on the Xbox and I'll certainly be buying this one. Can't wait for more of that great Sam Lake dialogue that made Max Payne so memorable.
YES, I have been waiting for this! Just make the controls more user-friendly and you can already add this to my Christmas list baby.
I love noir, and it will probably be 17 years before L.A. Noire is released.

Hell yeah! I totally forgot that that was a Rockstar title. Man, I've always liked the Rockstar line-up. And I love that Rockstar always brings their titles to all platforms.
Sidenote: State of Emergency wasn't that bad. It was a good rental.
I love Max Payne. Definately gonna pick this one up.
…and maybe this one will actually run well on a Sony machine.
Ah, memories of 4 frames per second; it's like you're always in bullet time.
I kid because I love.
If Sam Lake doesn't write part 3. Then it's a no go for me.
haha gameinformer said the story was cheesy
Hell yeah, I've been waiting for this.
