Ben-DutkaWhile Konami's Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots put up a decent fight, it was Guerilla's Killzone 2 that ended up winning the battle: according to PSXE readers, it's the most visually impressive title of the generation thus far.
There's no denying that KZ2's graphics are absolutely astounding, and even though it's difficult to compare them to MGS4's, one can't deny Guerilla's stunning achievement. It was about the little details that you don't normally see fused with an atmospheric intensity that is unrivaled. It has most definitely set the bar for future FPSs and that's exactly what one should expect from a "measuring stick" title; it should set an immensely positive precedent. And although KZ2 isn't perfect (no game is, right?), it's tough to argue against the stellar graphics, which succeeded in dragging the player into the action and keeping him there for the duration of the adventure. Sure, MGS4 had unbelievable choreography and the cut-scenes were unparalleled, but in terms of gameplay visuals…well, we won't break it down in minute detail, and the readers have already made their selection.
We switch back to another "Favorite" poll for this week: "What's your favorite PlayStation 3 exclusive?" Obviously, we're only including currently released titles, so take your pick based on the great exclusives we've already seen. Once again, we figure it's going to come down to KZ2 vs. MGS4, but this time, we get the feeling that it might be even closer…and MGS4 could emerge with the victory. But who knows? We're well aware of the fact that there are tons of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and LittleBigPlanet fans out there, so we expect to see good showings from multiple entries. What's your favorite? K2 and MGS4 are tied for best graphics to me. MGS4 is my favorite ps3 exclusive so far followed by K2, uncharted and LBP.

I remember Crysis being on the list too. I didn't really know what to think about that. Crysis is a beautiful game, but it all depends on your computer. So if you cant afford an exceptional computer, than it doesn't look that good.
Such are the pitfalls of PC gaming, any why I hardly consider it a platform in direct competition.
I can't deny that Crysis looks great, but looking at some screen shots, I notice that the sharpness can really work against itself sometimes and make it look a little ugly.
Being one of those that can I'll simply inform you that it blows KZ2 away in every category.
People are just bias towards K2. Crysis HAS better graphics, end of story.
"direct competition" being the key terms, no one who does their gaming on a console gives a rip about Crysis and the hundreds of extra dollars to make it work on their PC.

The FACT is Crysis has better graphics than KZ2. The platform each game is played on is irrelevant.
It's not irrelevant in my view because PC graphics will always be better, so why argue over it? The only real argument (somewhat) worth having is between PS3 and 360 graphics.
You make a good point, I agree with what you're getting at.
Gotta be Killzone for me, haven't been this stoked about playing an FPS since Doom back in the day. But man, am I the only one getting effed with these server errors today?

Crappy storyline imo
If you don't dig the story the multi is badass, and Guerrilla will be adding to it soon (Maps, Coop, etc).
I thought it had one of the better FPS storylines. But that Radec boss battle is the MOST annoying I have played in a long time.
The perfect game wouldn't end xD. Well…that would be my perfect game xD

I've played the killzone 2 demo and the mgs4 demo. I like mgs4 better because i hate fps games that arent used by the wii cursor or mouse. All im doing is waving the gun left and right trying to aim and eventually die. Lol, yeah i really suck that bad xD but its weird how when im playing mgs games and i turn into 1st person view, my aiming is incredible. Not in mgs4 though xD wow i talk alot…..
As for my fav ps3 exclusive…ninja gaiden sigma…or mgs4 im not sure. lol

Have to say Heavenly Sword was a spectacular effort too, but KZ2 does it for me… attention to detail and atmosphere… nothing on any platform compares with it… I hope it wins a string of awards!

Well I'm in the middle of playing MGS4 for the first time, so I will have to plow through so I can cast an educated vote.
Right now I can't decide between Killzone and Uncharted, and I suspect MGS4 will make the decision even harder.
Fall of Man should be on the list for favourite exclusives because a lot of people appreciate it more than Resistance 2.
I am going to abstain from voting until I finish Killzone 2 . But it's going to be hard picking one of the fab four-

MGS 4
KZ 2
I KZ2 but as far as over all game play and graphics MGS 4 wins my vote with ease. Don't get me wrong when you add it all up the story the action and the graphics just impressed more in MGS4. KZ 2 had great action and the best graphics but the story was lame the game was much shorter then MGS 4.

I have to agree that KZ2 does look stunning, but I can't stand the voice acting and the storyline wasn't very interesting. Mind you I'm not a huge FPS fan to begin with. I think these would be my top 3 so far:

K2 is absolutely chuffing magic!
Not just because of the awesome graphics/sound/atmosphere, but also the incredible AI. They make you REALLY want to kill 'em. 😀
Its hard to pick a favorite… MGS4 and Uncharted are both tied for me. KZ2 is a great and amazingly gorgeous title but not the absolute fav.

Killzone 2 sure is a great looking game…now for best PS3 exclusive…it's an easy win for MGS 4. Seriously no questions asked.
Oh yeah, yesterday I finally saw a Killzone 2 ad on T.V. on FOX at like 9:45pm or something and I was like "YES FINALLY!!!!! Even though I've seen countless images of it and gameplay videos of it…FINALLY a commercial about it" So yea it was awesome.
KZ2 just gets everything perfect. Occasionally in games i notice little tricks they use to cut down on resource usage (like invisible walls and such) or ill notice things thst just look completely wrong for no reason at all, but in KZ2 i havent noticed anything other that awesomeness. The online looks exactly the same as single player too, even with 32 players on the field. It doesnt have a great story, or great voice acting (thats why we have MGS and Uncharted), but it is easily the prettiest game i have played. I almost voted Crysis, but when you take into account the hardware taht is required to run crysis well it just doesnt make #1.
The new poll is the hardest one yet…
I cant decide between Ratchet and Clank or Valkyria Chronicles. Both are amazing games in every regard.
