Ben-DutkaActivision's Guitar Hero franchise is already an enormous success, so of course, they're looking to take full advantage. You already know about the specific band spin-offs like Guitar Hero: Metallica , and other titles like DJ Hero and the recently rumored Band Hero . Well, how's about another one to chew on?
According to GameSpot , Activision has registered a new filing with the US Patent and Trademark Office: Sing Hero . The filing provides us with the following explanation:
"…computer game software and related instruction manual sold together as a unit; interactive video game programs; computer game cartridges; computer game discs; downloadable computer game software; video game controllers; interactive video game comprised of a cartridge or DVD sold as a unit with a video game controller."
We have no other details at this time, but it's probably safe to assume that Sing Hero would follow the path blazed by other franchises, like SingStar and Karaoke Revolution . Although it's not on the same level as Guitar Hero in this country, SingStar is a huge release over in Europe, and the craze could hit this country as well…anything with "Hero" in the game title will be quickly recognized, right?
However, as the afore-linked article indicates, this filing doesn't mean a game called Sing Hero is inevitable. Activision has filed names like "Drum Hero," "Keyboard Hero," and "Guitar Villain" in the past, and none of those saw the light of day. So while we can't confirm "Sing Hero," we would like to say it's probably a damn good idea.
I do karaoke 2 nights a week around town, I will own this and I will love this.
omg prepare for our ears to bleed its already bad enough people who cant sing try to sing in rock band the noice is agonizing and sumtimes makes me want to stop playin from the discomfort or sumtimes its just tooo funny lol

I'm the exact opposite, I suck at guitar games (rockband ect.) but I enjoy singing so this style of game will be fun I think.
I agree with you on your statement about people who can't sing being annoying, hopefully I'm not that person!
Its kind of funny, I've been playing drums in real life for 9 years and I won 2nd place last year in the Virginia drumming competition last year, but when I play the drums on guitar hero, I suck terribly…still can't get better than medium difficulty.
But I'm up to hard on lead guitar. I used to hate Rock but this game made me a little more open to it. 🙂

LoL I can pick up my Rock Band Guitar after more than a month of not playing and beat songs I was struggling with before. I'm a wicked Bass player on Expert difficulty but I have to stick to Hard (medium on difficult songs) on guitar.
lol well its watever makes u have fun thats wat a game is for and alot of people tend to forget that
@ps3 wizarrd……. u are so rite rock band and guitar hero really did open me up to alot of awesome metal songs which i think is really cool a game like that is wat the world needs in order to see the great in everything cuz few years back i though anything rock was a bunch of jibba jabba but now thats wat u will mostly find on my iphone
Haha thats kool man, but I don't think I like rock THAT much. But i did download a song or two to my ipod. I just downloaded the Travis Barker "Low" remix yesterday.
They really should add some Rap songs to it though. Or atleast more Rap + Rock collaborations

Maybe they should implement this into a segment of that old busted pile known as "American Idol" to bring it up to date.

haven't seen that commercial and heard of the band but don't know what they sing. Are they one of the screamer type bands where they sing like a wuss and then scream?

My advice, Never buy a used Xbox unless it has a warranty on it. Seriously, I'm on my 4th one and the only reason for that is because of the 2 year warranty best buy sold me. without a warranty I would not have gotten another.
And only post a question once.

well there are sum good games for the 360 but i wouldnt be able to tell u …it all depends on how much u trust ur friend, how much he sellin it to u , and for wat model…hope i helped a bit

Ben, this is my analysis: Activision will release separate games for each type of instrument in GHWT (maybe more instruments). Band Hero will probably be a package of all of these instruments. This allows people to either get the whole package, or stick to the instrument of their choice.

So, in other words, they are rebranding and reshipping GHWT as Band Hero?

Uh, dj hero and now sing hero. They should give up really. Stick with guitar hero, it's the only good one.
