If you're a Grand Theft Auto fan, you certainly want the new Lost and Damned DLC, regardless of any platform preferences you may have. Therefore, you'll be happy to hear about the latest rumor…this speculation was almost inevitable, even if the foundation isn't all that stable.
The rumor is as follows: as most of you know, the aforementioned DLC is exclusive to the Xbox 360; in the original press release concerning Lost and Damned , Microsoft and Take-Two Interactive confirmed that it would be a "downloadable exclusive." Of course, this left a little room for interpretation, which is now coming to light. According to a supposed inside tipster who spoke to PSInsider, The Lost and Damned will release for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in disc format. some time next year. It will feature everything that's included in the current 360 DLC plus the next episode (scheduled for release later this year), and it will retail for $40. Obviously, as this is nothing more than a rumor, no official source has confirmed anything. Everyone is still waiting to see if Rockstar or Take-Two will issue a statement of some kind, and if they do, we'll be one of the first to tell you about it; that's for sure. We figured we'd see something like this, as PS3 owners really do want to have this extra content. But is this just wishful thinking? Or worse, a way to rile everyone up on the Internet…? Guess we'll have to wait and see.
In the meantime, let's just cross our fingers. It does seem plausible, and timed exclusivity seems to be a common theme when it comes to Microsoft. It wouldn't really shock us if Lost and Damned ended up on the PS3 in some way, at some point.
why would in come on disc and not download? cuz MS bought it for DLC only? lol

Hmm, a good way for them to get around a contract haha 🙂
exactly, they could get round the contract… make even more millions and then… urm, i dont know lol?!
hmm, similar to shivering isles for oblivion? cool with me.
While I enjoyed GTAIV (still have to finish it, actually…), to be honest I don't think I'll care enough about it in 2010 to buy the new content. The Lost and Damned doesn't do it for me, but who knows, Rockstar may wow me with the second batch of DLC.
I mean, will there even be enough PS3 owners to care about it next year? (Don't mean in numbers, just people's interest)

Well they said Microsoft would get exclusive DLC, so if it's on a disc it's not really DLC is it? 😀
no thanks, if Rockstar wants to get my attention and other ps3 owners then release a brand new DLC only on the ps3.
They can't though can they…Breaches of contract and all that…
Um gta4 died the 2nt I played n saw da game play I still played it n im on the last misson but sanadres was n still is da best gta they need 2 bring ideas like that back n as 4 dis rumor who cares? The gta4 hype died down a long time ago but the game maid + 100.000.00 so y not milk it
that was slightly painful to read…but i agree
Do you only have 3 fingers and half a brain?
Whoa……..!
Firematt is the prime example of what crack cocaine does to the brain. You would make a great mascot man!
I hope this is true. If so then it justifies why I can't still to this day PUT IT DOWN. An amazing game all around. FINGERS CROSSED!
Who's excited for this? Not many is my bet, it was a good game and I'm hanging onto it, but 40 bucks more for a (probably brief) spinoff? They better get to work on GTAV or a GTA: Subtitle and stop playing around with this stuff. I kinda laugh when people mention this as a "2009 exclusive for 360", I mean yeah it's exclusive DLC but not really a whole game and everyone is pretty much over the game by now.

blah!if it comes out i'll play it but GTA4 should of been a 25gig game at the least,i sh!t on 9gig dvd's,blah!
haha, do you sh*t on them and fling them at people?
you just guessed my favourite past time
A game like Grand Theft Auto should be no less than the size of San Andreas this generation. Sure there was alot of things to do in GTA IV, but the staying power after completing the game just wasn't on par with the other GTA's. Even with online multiplayer, I was turned off from playing it because the chaos level and enviroment wasn't as fun to explore as the other games.
I think they should make the next GTA a ps3 exclusive and make saints row an x360 exclusive and then put them up against each other.
I might pick it up (depending on when it comes out) I have to get back to GTA4, it's like the only game on my list with hardly any trophies, it looks pitiful 😛 Those ones are so hard to get though, and very time consuming. Maybe this extra content will get me to go back to it.
Microsoft always pays to get the good stuff; I don't think this DLC is coming for the PS3.
Rumor is that Microsoft payed for Splinter Cell: Conviction… And I really wanted that game.
I don't care about this at all, because I never even passed GTA4. I installed it the other day to play it, but got bored of it real quick.
On a sidenote, the AI in KZ2 has really spoiled me.
If the KZ2 AI spoiled you, dear God don't ever play Halo again. Stupid brute force does not a good AI make.
I think he's refering to the quality of the AI .
@Fabi I agree with u, kz2 AI is awesome the best to ever hit a console, thanks to the power of ps3 cell processors and blu-ray disc 360 can never top that without running into problems.

yeah thats what i said.
It's most likely a year contract. No point microsoft paying more for DLC. Everyone will get over it in a day anyway.
Everything in KZ2 has spoiled me, I don't have much to do online in that game anymore since ranking up to General, now I only face the toughest opponents >< which hasn't been working out for me at all D: So i'm going through the single player campaign for the 2nd time. All my other games don't look very good, or play very good at all anymore since KZ2. Not sure if this game was a blessing or a curse now.
next year? lol no thanks, i'm not even that worried about it. i'm confident PS3 owners will get their exclusive download eventually. 😀
FUCK DLC, give me RPGS
sorta rhymes
HAHA! how the hell did that get past the sensors?
Haha this would be awesome and funny if it's true.
GTA China Town Wars or whatever looks really really lame.
Ofcourse it does, it was just made to entice stupid DS comsumers to buy a new game. Hell, If I made a game (I have no game development skills whatsoever) for the DS, I think I could sell atleast 5000 copies.
I'd make: "Target Practice" where you have to poke the stylus into ever decreasing sized circles and it would sell 20 million copies.
hey man…that actually doesn't sound that bad. If you add good background music to that, it could be a pretty addictive title.
Well it wouldn't be the first time something xbox exclusive wound up on the ps3.
I'm looking at you Bioshock, Lost Planet, Overlord, Oblivion Expansion, and Ghost Recon 2.
and Eternal Sonata
Eternal Sonata was sooooooo dreamy and fun. While very linear and not exactly the style of game play I usually enjoy the music and art direction was top notch. ::sigh:: PS3 needs more RPGs
Although it would be nice but it will not happen, cmon dudes Microsoft paid them 50 million for a one year deal???
Again this is really hard to believe

to be honest 360 can keep this….gta4 got boring ages ago
agreed!

Doubtful for the price M$ paid but it's a nice theory. Even tho it's short it looked a bit more badass than the drudgery that was the main game, and I can wait a year to play it with all the other A games.
It probably looked more badass because MS actually knows how to advertise, I'd be surprised if the DLC lived up.
By the time that the DLC is available on disc, there will already be rumours of a GTAV, And then no one will care…It's possible for it to come to PS3, but 40 bucks for 1/8th of what GTAIV was? No thanks.
I've seen a couple of adds on the TV for the Lost and Damned but does anyone know how it's doing sales wise? I'm just wondering if all that money Xbox paid for the DLC exclusive was worth it.
I can't speak for the Xbox crowd but it seems most people on here have already moved on to other games. In order for the hype of the DLC to be effective shouldn't it have come out a month or two after GTAIV instead of a year?
I was wondering about this when the exclusive content for Fallout 3 was announced. I'd like to know how succesful exclusive DLC is.
It's great and all for PS3 users to get more content. But until we know whether or not this is official, it will just give 360 fanboys the excuse to see this article as desperate.
As far as I'm concerned, MS can have the DLC. I'd rather have a good new game, than fork over extra money to extend the life of an old one. Not to spark the flame, but I think 360 owners have to lean more on the DLC because the list of exclusives is so sparse. I think it's the exact opposite for the PS3.
Anywayz, there are very few games that I would choose to spend $10 or $20 (let alone $40) to extend rather than put that money toward a new game.
Lol, the flame didn't need spark, but you may have just added fuel to the fire…
I know what you mean about spending the extra cash though, I'm still a little peeved about spending 200 buck on Rockband..Sure I got all the goodies, but it doesn't get played as much as my other games. The only time I bring it out is when people come over..then after a few drinks the Band takes the stage. My friends all have fun with it when they come over, but they didn't have to pay for it..lol, maybe I should start charging cover… or get new friends…lol
