Ben-DutkaIt was one of the best, and unfortunately most overlooked, titles of 2008. Valkyria Chronicles was an excellent and unique strategy/action blend that snagged the hearts of many Japanese gamers. Sadly, despite a fiercely loyal following here in North America, sales of the game weren't good in this region.
We've heard rumors of a re-release, though, now that critics around the world have weighed in and said, "you must try this game!" If that goes well, perhaps we'll see a sequel…but we probably shouldn't hold our collective breaths. Instead, let us all wonder at the possible majesty of this Twitter update , which reads simply, "Something new looms on Gallia's horizon…are you ready?" Some will immediately hope for that sequel, but it seems far more likely the mini-announcement is hinting at the arrival of downloadable content in North America. They already have DLC for Chronicles in Japan – big surprise, right? – and it features a whole new mission, a harder Skirmish mode, a new set of never-before-seen battles, and the chance to play as the invading Imperial forces. It's an awesome assortment of extra stuff that would serve to ramp up the already-impressive longevity of the game, so cross your fingers! The rumors of Trophies for VC may or may not be true; after all this time, and with relatively few fans in the U.S., such a feature might not arrive.
But we would certainly enjoy some DLC, and if Sega really is planning a sequel, that'd be even better . We still say that such crossing of fingers won't do much good (sales are sales, you know), but who says we're not allowed to have a vague hope? Either way, something awaits fans of the game, and that's good news, no matter which way you slice it.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. VC is one hell of a game. I'm almost finished with my first go-around and already looking forward to playing through again with the stuff that gets unlocked after you beat it. Even if it's just the DLC, it would be a must-buy for me.
It might just be the anime series that has been getting discussed, though.

I own this game and still haven't played it more than 20 minutes. And with KZ2 currently spinning away in the drive…I can't see that changing very soon.
I think I have some kind of video game ADD.
Am I the only one that thinks K2 online matches are really short. I mean, I have games that I only get 5 kills and 2 deaths and I'm not new to the fps genre. In CoD4, I usually get kills at least 12 kills per game and R2 I get from 10 to 30 kills but R2 is totally different.

what are you talking about bro? Killzone matches take at least 25 min.
Its just the maps are big, its really fun but its not a points fest like COD4. Warhawk had similar problems
Well, there are no helicopters and airstrikes, so that could cut down on your kills, but…5?!!? I normally play the games that have 7 rounds of 5 minutes each. I'm not very good at the game, and I'd say about 20 points per game is about the minimum for me. That's not necessarily 20 kills, but 20 points at least.

I don't know what map or game mode you are playing but I never had a match last that long. Don't get me wrong, I want the matches to last longer so I can enjoy them more. Maybe I just enjoy it way too much and it just seems they only last 2 mins.
I am saying I would like the rounds to last a bit longer.

are you playing Warzone or Skirmish
because I've only been playing Warzone and they tend to be about 30 minutes long. And if you haven't tried Warzone you should. Its addicting
Yeah, it's gotta just SEEM like it last 2 minutes. Each objective is 5 minutes. Of course, sometimes an objective will be complete in less than 5 minutes, but I'd say average length of a game is between 20 and 30 minutes.
Oh, and let me clarify. I said I wasn't very good at it, but…I'M GOOD ENOUGH TO SMOKE KING JAMES!!! 😀

Its a new IP that doesnt appeal to the US. The best way to sell is to show that anime here in the states, then bang out with the sequel.
I bought this game and beat it not to long ago. This game is an excellent hybrid with great art and mechanics. I hope over time this game will attract further sales, it would be a shame for a game of this quality to continue to go unnoticed. VC already has great replay value, but DLC or sequel would be an instant purchase. Anyone who has not gave this game a try really should consider it. The demo on PSN is kind of a lame representation of the actual game.

if u remember some of my previous comments regarding VC. i was very bias against this game cuz of the gameplay.
after taking the advice of some of the psx people, i went and bought the game.
after playing for 9 hours into the game, this game is a absolute 'must have' for any rpg fans.
I want to see a sequel for this game! go SQUAD 7!!
