GameStop isn't exactly the final bastion of exact, solidified, reliable release dates, but even placeholder dates can give you an estimated idea.
And while none of GameStop's newest dates can be verified by the corresponding developers and publishers, they're certainly worth talking about. The first big name on the list is Uncharted 2: Among Thieves , which GameStop lists with a 10/1/2009 release; it's clearly a placeholder of some kind, but at least it's further proof of a 2009 release (as expected). And next on the list is God of War III which, sadly, still holds its 2010 launch (3/10/2010), but then again, most realists never predicted a late 2009 release. Other games of interest are Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams (October 5, 2009), InFamous (May 1, 2009), and Tekken 6 (June 16, 2009), so put some money aside for the year, fellow avid gamers. Of course, we can't say for certain that all – or any – of these dates will be accurate when all is said and done, but it helps a little, doesn't it? If you're looking for Gran Turismo 5 or Final Fantasy XIII , you're an idealistic dreamer and while there's nothing wrong with that, per se, it's still gonna prove disappointing in the long run. You could still hold out hope for GoWIII, we suppose, but don't hold your breath.
If any publishers want to confirm these dates any time soon, we'll be sure to let you know. Of the probable 2009 list, we're most excited about Uncharted 2: Among Thieves …and in our humble opinion, you should be, too. It's a no-brainer, isn't it?

GameStop should just stay quiet about it. But it's harder to get people to pre-order it if they don't even know the release date.

PS. random stuff but after having played kz2 I decided to take a look back at some cgi one of which was the new versus one and I gotta say I was tad bit dissatisfied with versuse's graphics lol, hope they can do better.

Could someone explain the point behind preordering in today's gaming market. I know it was a big deal in the past but with there being so many outlets to get a game I never fail at getting the game I want on release day.
Like II always say games get pushed up and pushed back all the time when the game goes gold thats when you know its going to be released we just have to see how everything turns out.

Man, gamestop said FF Versus XIII would come out December 2008 and that God of War 3 would come out March 2009. They just want pre-orders. The funny part is that some of the employees actually take them as fact.
I actually dont want GT5, GoWIII and FFXIII to come out on the same year (2009). Then what big titles are we going to look forward to next year?

I hear ya no money sucks, but hey it's tax time and after i use some to pay off my credit cards i'll get killzone 2 🙂 didn't get it for my birthday but i just finished paying for RE5 :)I usually don't trust the dates from ebgames they do it for pre-orders thats all. We;ll see if they announce anything at E3

I was on it yesterday evening and Tekken 6 has a release date of Oct. 27.
I hope we get atleast a 20 day difference between all the blockbuster games to hit the market in the latter part of the year . I hope Sony learns something from the clusterfuck last year .

hey ben, any updates about the release date of the NA version of White Knight Chronicles and Heavy Rain? It's ok if God of War III won't make it this year cuz Uncharted 2 will be more than enough for us this year. I hope that the release date of Infamous will be on May 1 because that date is my birthday, it will be a nice birthday present for me..
