Maybe they're all just thinking, "eh, it's only one day…what difference does it make?"
Evidence has been coming in from all around the Internet that several major retailers in North America have broken the February 27 street date for Killzone 2 . Now, if you're a little out of it and aren't quite sure of the day, February 27 is the day after tomorrow, not today. Even so, Target is apparently selling the game at multiple store locations nationwide, as reported by PS3Center . Then we have whispers that some Wal-Mart stores have done the same thing, although we can't verify any of those claims with visual evidence. Essentially, if you absolutely need KZ2 a day sooner, and you've got nothing to do today (the economy may have seen to that), we suggest checking some big chain stores nearby. Just don't bother with GameStop; there's no chance in hell they're going to break the street date. I worked there for a while, and I remember the insanely steep consequences if we did that; if we even sold a single solitary copy an hour before the street date. So just try Target, Wal-Mart, and maybe Best Buy…
You're not doing anything wrong if you buy it today; it's the retailer's fault. Some giant corporation isn't going to slap you with a giant fine and pissed-off reprimand. Oh, and if you want that demo code, we still have about 8 left if you want to sign up for the forums and contribute to our community. Leave a sentence or two explaining why you want to try it, and your e-mail address in this thread .

I saw KZ2 on the shelf at Walmart, but when the guy at the register rang it up an alarm sounded; completely ruined my day.
LOL

This happened to me with Rock Band 2 at Wal-Mart. Got all the way to the register, and it wouldn't allow him to ring it up. Playing with my video game purchases is like playing with my emotions, Smokey!
lmao, that would suck Golden. Looks like I have some shopping to do during lunch!
I've seen Target do this with movies as well. Hey, if the publisher's dont want the retailers to put it on the shelves, dont send it to them so early! haha.
Why am II not suprised this happens every week its just that K2 is a huge tittle.
no problem for me. picked it up today here in sweden.
"Now, if you're a little out of it and aren't quite sure of the day, February 27 is tomorrow, not today."
Isn't tomorrow the 26th? lol I must be really out of it 😉 lol I'm in NA where today is still the 25th 🙂
Actually Ben you're a little out of it and aren't quite sure of the day. The 27th is Friday.
yea,i was about to correct him.
Guess i'll be checking my local walmart, but to be honest not a lot of retailers break the street date in canada where i am, i've seen it happen once and that was 5 years ago. can't wait for Friday if i don't see it earlier.
Can't companies get in huge trouble if they break the street date? I worked in retail(bloody terrible) and if I broke a street date they broke my face and sacrificed me to the corrupt gods of retail.
Yes they can. If the developers so choose they can issue some pretty hefty fines for doing this. I've been through that too lol.

I pre-ordered at Best Buy months ago and thought I'd stop by there tomorrow(Thurs 2/26…lol)after work to see if they'd sell it early. Maybe I'll have a chance now. On second thought I think I'll go out at lunch and see what happens. You never know.
A guy in my clan picked this game up last Saturday at a major retailer in his area. He's loving the different levels but said so far, without being able to play on-line, his favorite part is playing the different maps against bots. In his words this game blows Cod4, Cod [email protected], and Socom away.
Yeah i know its still the 25th lol… I'm still going to go check!!! Target Walmart and Bestbuy…
They may be putting them up, but they are Street Dated games. So there is no way of getting them until Friday. Unless of course you were to steal it. Which would be bad. Im patient. Tomorrow night is when I get mine from good Ol' Gamestop. YAY!
day after tommorow right?
yeah I should have never preorder it at gamestop damn
If you go with your pre-order receipt, you can get your money back at any time….
Can everyone stop talking about Killzone 2. Im not allowed it and im constantly reminded about it.
What do you mean?
you're not 18?
Lol, you only need to be seventeen, and there's actually no law against a kid buying any game he/she wants (at least here in Canada).
@www im 15, my parents are really strict about games and movies
Hey, mine too lol.
But just my mother, my father a good sport when it comes to entertainment.
=D
I feel sorry for the loss of sales to those retailers who are sticking to the letter of their contract with the publisher.
i got it and the servers went on today the game is great!
Really?…..how "great?"……great isn't enough.I want more reasons why i should get this.
@www
If you don't have enough reasons by now, then don't bother. I'm sure there's some other game that's more to your liking.
True dat Troy. How about you pick up Lego Batman www?
Lol give him a break…its obvious he's been hibernating
lol all you!
Lego Batman sounds great.

@Banky A – Random Steve probably is under the age of 17.
I still think the worldwide release date should be the same for everybody. Anyway, my mindset has had the game's release date as February 27 for a long time so it's no big deal. I was told that I could pick it up first thing in the morning Friday.
Of course, KZ2 is just my dessert and occasional snack. It's MLB 2009 that is going to represent breakfast, lunch and dinner in March and beyond.
Just got my copy like 30secs ago….am so friggin excited to get home asap….
Btw…got it at a mom n pop game store in NYC… I tried Target but the register didnt allow it just like what happened to Goldenshadow

It makes me happy to think about two old people in their late 60's keeping the longtime family buisiness of selling videogames in their quaint little store in NYC
Im just excited to know that i have the FPS Bible in my hands…cant wait to pop in the disc
I have k2 . believe the hype .
ben………
send code………. *echoes off*
My friend got it in the mail monday. I was hoping amazon would get me a copy a little early, but not yet…
The only thing missing at the moment is joshua360…i wish i could smack him around a lil more with my KZ2 game case…oh well
Yeah seen couple of friends playing it -_-
Thats it I'm heading off to target. I'm glad I didn't pre pay it in full at Shamestop!
1st person shooters suck on consoles, they are meant for PCs!
Translation: "i cant aim with my thumb, i'm envious of those who can…i get pwned online…i need my full hand to aim…and i don't mind spending thousands to do so"

Lmfao.
Whoa Doc, that was funny as hell man. PC gamers need to come down to earth.
sure?
I went to Target after reading this post, and sure enough, they had them out. But the guy there said he wouldn't sell it to me. He even tried to ring it up, but the register locked him out.
Um docpain pc prices are pretty damn low, for the price of a ps3 you can get a gaming pc. Also anyone that argues in favor of console controls over a mouse and keyboard in regards to 1st person shooters is in the minority. 1st person shooters just like an RTS (halo wars) are dumbed down for consoles.
-auto aim
-easier difficulty
-less enemies on screen
-less available human opponents during online play
Well, count me in the minority there, chap. Trying to move AND aim on a 6" x 8" mousepad is just ludicrous. I'm sure if you've been doing it for years, then it's all good. But, I can't see anyone new to FPSs choosing a mouse and keyboard over a control pad. Move, aim, shoot, switch weapons, pause, jump, zoom, duck, strafe, cover…all I have to do is wiggle a finger. How is a mouse and keyboard better than that? People who prefer mouse and keyboard for FPS are dinosaurs.
Go play Crysis on your gaming PC that costs less than a PS3.
Oh? What?
