The video game industry is reaching its ever-lengthening fingers across many different entertainment venues these days, and that includes modeling. No, not 3D or artistic modeling; actual modeling with real, breathing, red-blooded babes.

If you're not familiar with Heather Kuzmich, here's your introduction. A top 5 finalist from Cycle 9 of America's Next Top Model, she has overcome the restrictions of Asperger's Syndrome and become a much sought-after model. Better yet for gamers: she has enrolled in a video game art design program at the Illinois Institute of Art. Recently interviewed by Voodoo PC founder Rahul Sood, Kuzmich talks about her transition to the gaming world:

"To be honest, I always wanted to do something that included art and creating stuff with my hands. At first I wanted to get into costume design, but that soon changed to game design, especially since I frigging love games and love doing weird designs for characters."

Kuzmich is a definite gamergirl it seems, as she mentions the likes of Resident Evil , Final Fantasy VII , Prince of Persia , and Knights of the Old Republic as being some of her all-time favorite titles. For the full interview, head on over to Sood's blog and check it out. That's one very pretty girl, and the fact that she's voluntarily pursuing work in the games industry only proves one thing: …oh, we won't repeat it again. But if you think hot chicks have no place in the creation process of games, you need to step into the current year.

…wow…just wow. I like the article. It's a bit different from the usual. Not saying the usual is boring or anything just that…it's nice to hear about a new thing in the gaming industry.

Sweet, she it seems she likes Final Fantasy VII 😉

If more girls were like that then we guitarists (and musicians) could impress them with baby making music like: To Zanarkand and Cloud's Theme.

😛

Dude, I went to her high school! Awesome. I didn't know how cool she was! A bunch of people I knew were rooting for her while she was on America's Next Top Model, but now she's going into something I actually care about!

Which other thing? She's a few years older than I am, but several of my friends knew her.
But it is weird it's such a small world.
I'll definitely be looking into games she works on!

You'll have the right to say that if you could do better, but I doubt it.

Great article.
Heather's got a great mind on those shoulders.

And the fact that she's going into gaming design, is surely a plus that should benefit the industry & gamers even more.

Ok, after reading up on Asperger's Syndrome, I'm not surprised she's a gamer:

I think a lot of gamers probably have AS. Not that I'm implying causation, merely a correlation…
