If you're one of the many off-road racing fans who are still enjoying the stellar MotorStorm: Pacific Rift , you'll be happy to know that the game's first big update is "just around the corner."
As posted by Community Development Manager Jamie Brayshaw over at the official PlayStation blog, Pacific Rift is in for a definite upgrade. This patch will fix some of the user reported issues and glitches along with providing "many improvements and amendments," which is always an appreciated treatment. We'll see "changes to the way the game handles data" (some complaints of corrupted save data have surfaced), the Boost glitch has been fixed, "Time Attack times and Rank Information will update correctly for all players," and more. Feel free to check out the details and explanation at the blog, and we're hoping to see this update drop very soon. Usually, whenever we see updates like this, the patch in question isn't far off, and you might even see it available for download on Thursday. If not then, perhaps we can expect it on the first Thursday of February. The more updates and downloadable content a game receives, the happier the fans are; that's just a simple fact. Sony ain't gonna ignore their MotorStorm fans!
So if you'd like them to turn their attention to another issue you've encountered, go ahead and tell them all about it at the official MotorStorm forums . They'll listen, we promise.

Not one for racing games except for GT really so dammit I wanna see that sometime this year
i loving racing, looking forward to gt5
The Demo doesn't do that game justice, all the other tracks are awesome imo
i agree
i 3rd that
yeh, for once when they say that this demo doesnt represent the final product.. they actually mean it.
the game is beyond awesome… tuff tho! half way through and you really need to knuckle down.
Thats goods news but it would be even better it were some DLC instead of fixing something that shouldn't of been broken anyways…
I am big arcade racer fan and this game is at top of my list just cant afford it yet, played the 1st one it was awsome.
I love this game!
The improvements from the first one is amazing
The racing is really intense, overall the best rally/offroad game there is.
Great to see Evolution embracing and supporting this game through and through.
Great to see many of the glitch fixes. Specially that boost glitch….
Funny the first one had a boost glitch too….
Anyway great stuff!
What was the boost glitch?
One of the more underrated games out there right now….the game screams bad ass and is really intense all the way through a race….also, the online is addicting
I wish they'd add grenade-planting for motorcycles against larger vehicle. be it sticky tar-and-sock type, or straight up frag 'nades. Then the game would be an instant buy for me!
See, I bought the first one, an dalthough the racing was pretty intense, it lacked a lot of extra features like things such as smash-up derbys, or other mini or alternate game modes. Lacked Depth basically. So far I haven't heard of any of those things added in MSPR so I dunno, without obvious awesome modes is it still worth the full price purchase?
i'm thinking about picking this game up….
@SmileyGrenades: ROFL, man!
Seriously, though, I wish this title could be turned over to Criterion (the good souls who brought us Burnout: Paradise) for some TLC and DLC! Then there would be 20 different race modes, 100 different courses, and let's not forget about hovering cars!
ALL game developers should take a page from Criterion's playbook regarding how to treat fans AFTER they've laid down their hard-earned (dollars/pounds/insert currency here) on a game. Are you LISTENING, Evolution?
