Many big-name titles and system accessories have already received a price cut on Amazon, and even though the Deal of the Day is temporary, it's still worth mentioning…especially when it involves the PlayStation 3. Yep, for today only, you can purchase a brand new 80GB PS3 from Amazon for the price of $349.99, which is $50 cheaper than the standard retail price. Just remember, as it's the Deal of the Day , this deal disappears as of tomorrow and it's only available "while supplies last." With extra little bonuses, you might be able to avoid much of the taxes and shipping costs, too, so now could be an excellent time to finally snag the PS3. We will most likely see an official (and permanent) price drop some time this year, but it probably won't happen any time soon. Therefore, it's always good to take advantage of deals like these; deals that certainly won't pop up at places like GameStop.
While you're over there, browse around for games or accessories you've missed out on in the past; you might be surprised at what you find. January is typically a pretty dreary month for retailers, so now's the time to search for awesome deals and sales.

Dude, get over it. The site is not sponsored by Amazon. They're just pointing out a good deal. I've got a boy that has been thinking of picking up a PS3. I'm going to call him and tell him about this. Does that mean Amazon is paying me? No. It means I know about a good deal, and I'm passing on the info to a buddy.
Now, if the PS3 was selling for $350 EVERYWHERE and PSXE only singled out Amazon, then you'd have a reason to cry foul. Right now, you're crying for nothing.
And, I don't know if it's the deal of the day, but if you click the link Ben put up, you will indeed find the 80 GB PS3 at Amazon for $350.

Dell dot com has a better sale on game consoles (PS3, 360, PSP), games, and accessories… IMO.

Amazon is the best for gamers, that's why it pops up on this site so much. Not surprisingly Ebay kind of snorts powdered deer penis when it comes to deals.

There are a good amount of sales poppin up now. Best Buy has a new list of games on sale. For all you peeps that were on the fence because of the price, Bioshock is now 29.99 in Best Buy. Go buy it and see why it won the lion's share of GOTY awards in 2007.
price drops are great, but software price drops are neded to those who have brought ps where they are. day-1-ers want games, not another ps3.

The reason why I asked if the site was sponsored last week was because in Australia it is a breach of some media industry laws if you editorialise advertisments and dont disclose that they are advertisments (it is seen as a breach of duty of disclosure and journalistic integrity by the journalist – check out the "cash for comment affair" on wikipedia for the most high profile case in Aus). Hence, I asked if it was sponsored and what the law is in the US about it. Fairly simple question which I never got an adequate answer for.
As I said last week, I have no qualms if the site or some articles are sponsored – I still like this site more than any other and have been visiting it since early 2007 when I bought my ps3 (but only started commenting a couple of months ago). I never degraded the site because of the heads up on the deals, if anything I am looking out for it, so settle down.
Specifically @ Coverton and Arvis – sarcasm is the lowest form of wit. Remember that.

Hello everyone! Ive been around this site for quite a long time as a guest, but today I finally got my new tv set and an ultra new and shiny 80G PS3. So you can welcome me :D. I initially ordered both TV and PS3 from Amazon, but two days after I saw (dont remember where) an article just like this, making ps3 fans to know bout DELL selling 80G PS3 for only 360$ (tax included). I canceled my Amazon order and got my PS3 from DELL. Pretty cool.
Oh my, that PS3 is quite a marvelous piece of tech, it is noiseless!! works wonderfully. I purchased 4 games to begin my current gen gaming journey, MGS4, GTA4, GRAW2 and Orange Box (good value for only 20$). After finish them, KZ2 and Riddick:Chronicles come next. Perhaps, I must give R2 a try before KZ2, Im a bit scary that after playing KZ2 any other shooter becomes outdated and pointless to play with.

Don't know if there's any "Big Lots" stores around you guys, but while in there today, I saw a PS2 Guitar Hero's "Aerosmith" version(guitar & game) for $48.
Also for any Wi owners, they also have a $10 deal on a aftermarket 4-piece Wi Sports set, with steering wheel, tennis racquet, golf club, and(forget what the last item was).
