We just recently learned that LittleBigPlanet would be on display at next week's Consumer Electronics Show , and we hoped this news would indicate a release date update. Thankfully, it seems our guess was correct, provided the so-called "Sony insiders" are accurate.
According to IGN, those insiders have said the team is working hard to deliver the promising little cooperative platformer for the UK this September. Now, we have no way of knowing if Sony is planning a simultaneous worldwide release for the game, but this does sound a little later than expected. Remember, we had originally hoped to see it late last year, but the delay was fairly significant. For a game that's going to make full use of the PlayStation Network, it's something users are definitely looking forward to, so the sooner the better. Perhaps when Sony presents the game next week at CES 2008, we'll learn more about a North American release date. If it's September, than so be it.
We'll continue to try to gather up more information regarding both LittleBigPlanet and PlayStation Home. Both of these may go hand-in-hand, especially considering the fact the Network sits at the core of the game in question. It's like a PSN showcase, really…and we can't wait for it.
