We're used to game delays, but that doesn't mean we enjoy them. The latest isn't as gigantic as the Grand Theft Auto IV delay, but it's disappointing nonetheless, primarily because it's supposed to be a highly original and even breakthrough game for Sony.
According to the latest issue of EGM, LittleBigPlanet now has a Fall 2008 release window, so it seems we'll all have to wait a bit longer to develop our own levels and attempt to conquer a variety of designs from other players. Now, many have assumed Sony is holding this game back for the express purpose of launching it simultaneously with PlayStation Home. This could very well be the case, although we still hope to see Home sooner than next fall. On the other hand, there is the distinct possibility that Sony simply isn't done with the game yet – the most typical explanation of them all – and we can live with that…kinda. Still, as this game is supposed to be very community-oriented, it seems more likely that LittleBigPlanet is just waiting to come Home.
We'll be looking for more news on LBP and that Home beta, but for now, we'll have to accept this new release estimate. Don't worry, fellow gamers, there are plenty of other awesome titles between now and then to keep us occupied.
