By now, it's a well-known fact: Unreal Tournament 3 is one kick-ass game. It's one of the best titles of the year, and despite a small delay from November, it remains an absolute must-have for any PS3 owner. There are plenty of reasons to love this game – as you can see in our review – but there's always a way to build on near-perfection, right?
According to a recent post over at the official UT forums, Epic is currently looking at gamer feedback and entertaining some ideas for future updates to the game. By far the most intriguing is the idea of a split-screen co-op mode, which fans have obviously been clamoring for. In response to this request, a forum administrator said-
"We're aware that some of our customers wanted split screen for the PS3 version of UT3. We hear you and will evaluate the feature for possible future updates to UT3."
Now, this doesn't necessarily mean it's going to happen, but it does mean Epic and Midway aren't done with UT3 just yet. In this day and age, what with the Store and Marketplace, you can always issue updates and expansions. Hence, it's never a bad idea to add updates that would serve to "refresh" a game over time. Let's hope Epic does decide to implement a split-screen co-op mode at some point in the near future…if it happens, we'll be sure to let you know.
