The business news isn't quite so gripping for gaming fans – Activision and Vivendi have decided to merge – but the software results of this action are definitely going to pique everyone's interest.
They issued a fact sheet explaining this colossal merger, and within that sheet are announcements for Call of Duty 5 , Guitar Hero 4 and a brand new Tony Hawk title; they're all "in the pipeline." It's hardly surprising, but hey, it's still great news. Perhaps you hadn't noticed, but Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock are two highly praised titles, and both are burning up sales charts. But it doesn't end there, as the sheet hinted at "new DreamWorks titles, new Marvel titles and a racing entry with Bizarre" (they're responsible for the esteemed Project Gotham Racing series). We have no idea what any of these games are right now, but it's good to know they're on the way. Obviously, this merger is just bringin' in more big business…which we assume is the whole point.
We hope to see more news concerning those giant sequels, plus further clarification on the new projects awaiting development. We'll let you know as soon as we hear anything.
