We were excited to learn that early tests indicated the Dual Shock 3 would work with PS2 games. However, just because it worked with three relatively old titles doesn't mean it would work with all of them, right?
Thankfully, though, Sony has confirmed to Eurogamer that all PS2 games will support the rumble of the impending Dual Shock 3. If we had gotten a chance to test this out before firmware update 2.00 for the PS3 had been released, we would've found nothing more than a disabled feature. But 2.00 has opened the floodgates, and now, that Dual Shock 3 will function exactly like the Dual Shock 2 for any PS2 game you might own. More and more PS3 games are starting to support the feature, too; MotorStorm , Resistance: Fall of Man , and Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction are three of the highest-profile titles that support DS3 rumble.
Just remember, despite all this information, the U.S. and Europe won't be seeing the Dual Shock 3 until spring of next year. Japan, on the other hand, gets it this year…how badly do you want it, would-be importers?
