Update: Good news- Naughty Dog has confirmed the release of this demo for Europe. It will arrive on the Store on November 22, which is definitely ahead of its slated December 7 release date. The outcry worked!
While Sony has been better about providing PlayStation Store content to our European friends, they still lag behind in certain areas. And all you Euro gamers out there realized yesterday they were once again left out in the cold: that highly anticipated demo of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune only released to the North American Store. Yeah, that upset a whole lot of gamers across the pond, and they voiced their displeasure over at the official PlayStation blog.
Yesterday should've been the day the world got a chance to see and play Naughty Dog's impending action/adventure title, but only North American gamers got the opportunity. Sam Thompson, SCEA Line Producer, clarified the situation in his post, and then a horde of negative replies followed. However, as Naughty Dog is always good about listening to their fans, Thompson replied back, saying Sony will "see what they can do." Here's his reply-
"We hear you loud and clear. Wanted to chime in here and let you know that we have shared your frustration with the Naughty Dog team and we are going to see what we can do. I will be back tomorrow with an update, but in the meantime I hope you can be patient and bear with us. As you have learned through communicating with Evan and Amy on the blog, Naughty Dog is a studio that listens to gamers, so I hope to have good news for you soon."
See? Get your voice out there, and you will be heard. Let's just hope something comes of this minor uprising, and our European friends will get this demo before the final product releases later on this month. Also, stay tuned for our hands-on preview of this demo coming very soon!
