Yes, the Metal Gear Solid 4 delay was disappointing. However, Capcom is playing the role of savior with some great news that should help override Konami's bad news: according to the latest issue of Famitsu, the publisher has given their hotly anticipated action title, Devil May Cry 4 , an official Japanese release date!
We haven't seen a concrete date yet for DMC4 – all we ever got was "Q1 2008" or "Winter 2008" – but we have one now- it will release in Japan on January 31 for the price of 7990 yen. Gamers in the land of the Rising Sun will also get a special collector's DVD, which will ship in both the Dante and Nero versions of the game. However, that special DVD will go quickly, so if you want it, you had best act quickly. There's no word on whether or not this bonus disc will make its way to other territories, though.
Initially expected to release in Fall 2007, DMC4 was prepared to be one of this holiday season's biggest titles. However, Capcom was forced to delay the game, not long after they announced it would also be available on the Xbox 360. Many action aficionados were upset to learn of this delay, but at least we don't have to wait too much beyond Christmas. And besides, everyone always whines about how there aren't any good games in the winter months. See, now you'll have at least one.
