Wow, you European gamers are getting all kinds of good news this month, huh? Of course, this doesn't bode well for the rumor that MGS4 might be arriving in 2007, but then again, the chances of that seemed ridiculously slim to begin with.

According to, it seems Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will be arriving in Europe before Easter, and even better, Sony and Konami are planning a "console-and-game" bundle, too! Yeah, this is the kind of thing the whole world wants, Sony, so while we're happy for our friends across the pond, don't you dare limit this bundle to one territory! In speaking to Spanish website, SCEE vice-president James Armstrong apparently confirmed it:

“We are working on a PlayStation 3 bundle that includes Metal Gear 4 Solid and the new DualShock. We want it to hit the high street before Easter. That’s what we’re pushing for at the moment.”

So it's coming with the Dual Shock 3, too? Nice! Obviously, MGS4 will be a big-time system seller, so it would make sense to see a bundle package, but we normally only see first-party games in such bundles. And if Konami and Sony are working this closely, we believe another rumor might bite the dust: the one that says MGS4 is coming to the Xbox 360. Konami has denied it all along, and now, it seems like developer and electronics giant are just too buddy-buddy for that to be true.

They didn't talk about a possible price for this MGS4 PS3 bundle, but just as a refresher, the 60GB Value Pack is now £349 and the new 40GB PS3 is £299. As Sony is phasing out the 60GB model, the 40GB will probably be the only option for a bundle, so the price shouldn't be too bad. We'll let you know if we hear anything else on this subject.
