According to a post by Sony line producer Greg Phillips over at the official PlayStation blog, the highly anticipated futuristic platformer, Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction has been slightly delayed.
Originally expected to hit retail shelves on October 23, the game will now arrive a week late; the new date is October 30. Furthermore, the playable demo has also been hit with the 7-day delay, as it will now be available on the PlayStation Store on October 11. However, if you're at all interested in the game – and I know we've said this several times before – just go out and pre-order it from GameStop. You will receive the demo for free, and then you can see if your experience gels with ours, outlined in that hands-on preview we did last week. We can't be sure if that demo and the one for the Store on the 11th are identical, but we imagine they're pretty similar, at least.
This is unfortunate, because as GameSpot pointed out, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts nominated this game in a couple categories for achievement. But as the awards are handed out on the 23rd – the original release date for Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction – Insomniac now won't be around to pick up anything they might win. Awww… See what happens when you miss a deadline, even by a little?
