Well, you can't have everything.
Heavenly Sword is shaping up to be one of the finest titles of the year, and while most are eagerly anticipating any review for this game (look for ours in just a few minutes!), they shouldn't anticipate any downloadable content.
During a recent interview with PSU.com, Nina Kristensen, Co-founder of Ninja Theory and Chief Development Ninja for this hot action title, said their focus was elsewhere. While downloadable extras are great for just about any game, they're best suited for certain titles, and we don't really consider Heavenly Sword a prime target for such content. What exactly do you want to add/change? Nariko's costume? The heavenly sword itself? The story? It's all pretty well written in stone, so it makes some sense to not see additional content from the PlayStation Store. As Kristensen said-
"We would have loved to do downloadable content but when we sat down and thought hard about where our efforts should go, it became very clear very quickly that we should put all our focus into the single player offline experience and make that as good as we possibly could."
She goes on to say how proud she is of the team's effort, and as you'll see from our imminent review, we applaud that effort. But as far as downloadable goodies, it's just not part of the formula at this point.
