This could be bad news for PS3 owners, even though we're only talking about a week or two.
Rockstar's recent preview event for Grand Theft Auto IV showed off a demo (one that's over a month old, but nevertheless), but they also mentioned another little nugget of information. …and this "nugget" is bound to get everyone talking. Apparently, the PS3 version of the game is "a week to two weeks" behind the 360 version in the development process. Now, we have to clarify one thing: this doesn't automatically mean the PS3 version of GTA IV will release later than the 360 version; it simply means that at the present time , the PS3 version is behind.
The formal release date for the game is October 16, which – as far as we know – remains the same for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. Rockstar still has time to catch up, of course, so we'll have to see if GTA IV keeps its simultaneous multi-platform release. If anything officially changes regarding that date for the PS3 version, we'll be sure to let you know.
